If we want to go to Donalds Safari Breakfast @ Animal Kingdom, but we only have the MYW base ticket and not the hopper, do we HAVE to spend the day at Animal Kingdom after we eat. In other words, do I have to plan my trip and which day we go there around this breakfast?

Since you can only use that ticket to enter one park, then it's probably wise that you spend some time in the park - or you'll be using a whole day's park ticket just to have breakfast. You don't HAVE to stay in the park, but you won't be able to use the ticket to get into any other parks on the same day; and if you just go for breakfast, that's a pretty expensive breakfast.

I had a reservation for this breakfast in July and it was for a time before the park even opened. I never had to swipe my ticket. however, I did have park hopper so we ended up staying at the park that day.
All I had to do was show up for my reservation with my rezzie number and a CM was on the turn styles waiting for similiar people to do the same.. I wonder if you would be able to do this as well.. Have you tried calling up and asking? I would be curious to know.

Yes. Which is why we will be getting park hoppers for our Aug trip. It is hard enough to plan meals 180 days in advance and I don't want to be tied to that specific park for the day.:)

We had an 8:05 breakfast at Tusker House in Dec (park opened at 9:00am) and we checked in at the 'special entrance' with a CM that had a clip board with all the names and reservations on it, then we definately had to swipe our park ticket. I am not saying that you didn't have to..anything can happen! but for anyone reading this thread, normally you must use your ticket to get into the parks to dine at any rest. at any time. If you do not have park hoppers, then that will be the only park you are allowed entry to for the day.

That's too bad:sad2:. Guess I'll have to have DD pick something that is held at one of the resorts instead. My dad is taking the whole family for Thanksgiving (all 16 of us:scared1:), and he's not getting the hopper so it would be a little unfair to make everyone plan their day & which park around us going to our breakfast. But, I do want to take DD to at least one character experience. We did one everyday last time we went (we had the dining plan), so I promised her she could pick one this time.;) I think I'll try to convince her to do Cape May or Chef Mickeys.

This was a mistake on the CM's part and should not be considered a viable touring plan.

Keep in mind that you could also do the Lilo & Stitch breakfast at O'Hana or the Supercalifragilistic breakfast at the Grand Floridian. Those are character meals and they are great fun too.

I didn't see anything about a "Supercalifragilistic breakfast" on the "dining reservations" page on the Disney website. All I saw @ the Grand Floridian is the 1900 Park Fare. What is the "Supercalifragilistic breakfast"? Does anyone know if Donald is at any other breakfast (Chef Mickey, or Cape May?) DD really wants to do something w/ Donald for some reason

I apologize the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare used to go by that name. They must have changed the name. When we went it was Mary Poppins, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, the Mad Hatter and I can't remember who else.

Donald is generally at Chef Mickey's. I cannot remember if he was at Cape May Cafe. When are you going? We will be dining there on March 20th and could let you know if he is around.

Donald is at both Cape May & Chef Mickey's. 1900 Park Fare breakfast was Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Tigger & Pooh.

You could be right. The trip was over seven months ago for me,maybe we did swipe..

However,we didn't even get seated at this breakfast. The guests who arrived earlier than us were able to sit down and get as much food as they wanted.

We waited in line for over an hour and still didn't get seated. I saw many families with children who chose to leave for the obvious reasons.. The children were so disappointed.. It was quite sad to see children cry about not getting to see their favorite characters..

My group decided to leave as well. I wouldn't recommend this breakfast. The location is quite small and cannot accommodate enough patrons, plus they over book the reservations.

If you do decide to go to the breakfast definitely plan on getting there very early. I wouldn't want you to have the same experience.
