How does this work?

I will be making dining reservations for my family and my parents. We will have two different reservations because of the two rooms. So when I go online to make my ressies and put in my reservation number to get the +10, will I be able to still make the dining for 7 and not just my 5?

And how does CRT work since we will have the DDP? If it's just my ressies, will it charge me for two and apply the plan to the rest?

All of this just dawned on me and now I'm confused :confused3

Thanks for the help...

I am wondering the same thing, we have 3 rooms but I want to make dinner ressies for all of us together...hopefully someone knows the answer!

You can make ressies for how ever many people you want to inlcude at your table. We went in October with our best friends and they stayed at a completely different resort, etc.... and I did all the booking for our meals. YOu tell them how many you have and they tell you what is available. There is no connection to how many are in your hotel room, or how many are on your package when you book. HTH

On our upcoming trip, I made all of our ADR's for 6. We only have 5 in our room/ressie, but my MIL is in another room therefore another ressie #. I had no problems making my ADR's for more people that are in my ressie/room.

I also made ADR for CRT and all they did was take my credit card for the ressie guarantee, and DDP will be charged when you get there. If you don't show, then your cc will be charged for the full amount of people booked.:scared1:

Hope this helps.:goodvibes

Sorry...forgot to answer your other question...

As for CRT and any other restaurant you go to....it doesnt matter who has the ddp when you book, or even when they seat you. At some point while you are there (some ask at the time you get seated and some don't ask until its time to pay....most places ask as they are beginning to wait on you if you are on the ddp). they'll ask you about method of payment. If you have five in your family who are ddp, then they'll take the TS credits from your Key to The World Card (this is your resort key, dinner key, park ticket...all in one...looks like a credit card) and then bill the others in your party who arent using the ddp. Makes no difference at all. some people have the ddp but will chose to pay out of pocket for some meals. This is what we did at CRT cause I didn't want to use 8 table service credits for the four of us to eat breakfast there. We just paid for it. Just becasue you have the ddp doesn't mean you automatically hae to use it for your meals, even if you used advanced reservation system. Make the ADRs you want, then when you are there, you decide how you want to pay for each meal....cash, credit card, or ddp credits. Hope this makes sense. Have fun on you trip.

This all helps, thank you.

However, I thought CRT was prepaid unless on the DDP. In 2008 when I made our ressies there they charged my credit card because we hadn't made our other reservations yet, but once I had, I called back to apply the DDP and I had a refund on my card. Maybe they have changed the prepaid policy?

To my knowledge, they hold the card number on your reservation. That way if you dont show up and neglect to cancel 24 or 48 hrs ahead (whichever it is), you get charged even if you don't go. If you do call to cancel, they drop everything. We were just there in Oct. and my credit card was not charged until we got done eating and I paid the bill. In fact, I don't even think the credit card I paid with at the castle was the same credit card I booked my reservation on. Maybe I should check back and make sure I wasn't charged for both. But honestly, I don't think your credit card info gets processed unless you cancel, fail to cancel in time, or show up and use it to pay. Not sure what happened with yours, but mine wasn't actually charged on my card. If this has changed, hopefully someone will see our posts and let us know. I think the credit card number just holds the ressie, just like you do when you prebook a hotel room anywhere else (not disney...). It's like insurance for them if you don't show up.
