How Does This Work?

I'm just curious, I've never done this or thought about doing this until just here lately but how do the cash ressies work along with your point ressie? Do you make them both at the same time? Say we wanted to stay for 7 nights on points and wanted to add a couple of nights cash, can we do that and stay in the same room? I've read quite a few posts of people using cash at the DVC resorts and just wondered how it worked. Any info would be appreciated. I'm sorry if this has been asked before. Thank you for your help.

I've done cash nights at Hilton Head on weekends and just link the reservations together. Works out great stay in the same room no moving.

Cash nights may not be available when you reserve your nights on points (this is often the case right at 11 months). When available, cash nights (reserved thru MS) will be linked to your point reservations and you won't need to change rooms during the stay.

If you reserve thru MS and thru CRO, it's possible that you would need to change rooms.

I'd make cash reservations thru MS whenever possible.
