how does the security protect us from terrorist ?

idk if we should all of a suddion jump to conclustions. i know ive wondered this before. but all well i hope that every one can fill safe there as i do. but other places mall movies nope not ever can I fill safe

I am suspicious of your motives too, Old Lady.....if that IS your real name!! :scared: :lmao:

Jade, if I were you I would feel safer at DL than just about anywhere. They have up-to-date security measures in place, the latest training in crowd control and I am sure they have been drilled on what to do in any major catastrophe, be in man-made or natural. Just look how quickly they organized the evacuation during the recent earthquake. They know what they are doing.....

And hey...we all gotta go sometime. I can think of worse places! ;)

I totally agree. I think that we all have been affected after 9/11. I do believe that DL is on the last spot on the list of Terrorists to mess with.
I think that cooler heads prevail though. Maybe OLD LADY is just really freaked out and wants to make sure that its all cool. Too bad though to live like that.
Living in fear. I just dont think that Dl will be a place where a terrorist cell will decide to attack. There is no $$ in it. It doesnt directly affect the economy.
That is just my opinion.

yes in dl i fill safe other places i dont lol sorry if confused others

You are fine, I think I was the one confused - please excuse me, I am fighting a sinus infection and feel kinda foggy today.....

I think in the event of a terrorist threat, we should all go straight to Disneyland and hide behind the castle - they'll NEVER find us there! :thumbsup2

I thought DLR or WDW was on one of the 'lists' the feds uncovered. OR...it was just a DISboarder posting that and stiring up some trouble!:stir:

Maybe it was Old Lady since she/he/it hasn't been back to review our discussion....LOL

I just think we can't live our lives everyday worrying about things like that to the point of obsession. Yes, we all have to be aware of the potential dangers out there in the world. And I hate to say it, but I have thought that the happiest place on earth would be a "good" target if you really wanted to infuriate the U.S., but you know, we just have to live our lives with the hope that things are being done to keep us safe. Maybe I am being too optimistic, but what else can you do? When I am at Disneyland, I really am on top of the world and I don't even think about the outside horrible things that could happen. We let the terrorists win when we stop enjoying our everyday lives. Be careful and smart, yes, but go out there and live and be happy.

Are some of you suggesting that the OP is somehow plotting against DL?

C'mon.

It is a reasonable question to wonder about the various security measures at DLR and if the OP was perpetrating something they would not be coming here for intelligence gathering as we are not a good source.

Disney does the best they can without infringing on the overall visitor experience.

After my experience with security, I feel pretty safe at DLR. I was there for the Pirates of the Caribbean Wold Premier last year. We spent the entire night in line starting at midnight the night before. There was a group of teenage girls right behind us playing Catch Phrase, an electronic hand held game that makes different buzzing noises. One of the security guards that was super friendly and funny came by and asked what she had. She replied by saying "IT'S A BOMB". Wrong thing to say at Disneyland! Immediately a swarm of guards came over and yanked her out of line and took her off somewhere. The now, not so friendly, guard came over and told the other girls not to EVER mention a bomb at Disneyland, even kidding, because they take it VERY seriously! He said that their friend could be taken out of the park and NEVER allowed to return. I think they just gave her a very stern talking to because she returned a short time later, sat back down and was very quiet. I think there's a lot more security at Disneyland than we know about!

Ooh, ooh, I have a story to add, too!

I graduated about 5 years back and, of course, did the DL Grad Night. Well, I remember my best friend telling me about her older brother's trip to Grad Night (he was a year older than us).

Shoot, now I can't remember the exact details... I believe they were in line for Indy, in the queue. You know how there's all the interactive stuff? The boys were talking and one of them said, jokingly, "What next, a bomb's going to go off?" Well, I guess they were behind a man who freaked out hearing that (?) and informed security, which removed him from Grad Nite! I think maybe the police were called, too? I remember we thought it was so crazy, because, well, it's Indy! So yeah, don't mess with DL!

How crazy! If I was that girl, I would never mention the word bomb again, even when I wasn't at Disneyland! :scared1:

It's the same at the airport, you can't mention anything like that, even if you're kidding..

Actually, I think someone else has asked this question on the Dis before. I remember reading it...
