How does the Quarrantine actually work for DVC members from New York?

As mentioned in a previous post, consider that if Florida's quarantine expires, NY may enact one for folks that have visited Florida

It gets worse..Gov Cuomo is meeting with Governors Lamont and Murphy to consider a 14 day quarantine from many states which are seeing a spike. This tells me that if flying into Newark or Bradley, a traveler will have to sign the form on the plane to agree to 14 day quarantine, similar to the one required on flights coming into Florida.:(

And what is silly is it was criticized by him when FL did it. I know FL is having some spikes, but they are still not nearly up there as others have been.

I think the new orders for masks will help...while not state wide, at least it will slow things in area that did.

I really hope that especially in Orange County, the new Executive Order by Mayor Demings which went into effect for mandatory mask wearing in public places will slow the spread. There seems to be much negativity between Gov Cuomo and Gov DeSantis. Florida is encouraging tourism. Many are afraid to fly because of the quarantine order.
Who wants to commit to a 14 day quarantine before and now if the new law is enacted after a vacation to Florida? :( True meaning of quarantine means staying in a resort and not leaving the room for 14 days.
Not very "tourism friendly" by either Governor. Hearing on the news constantly that Orange County wants to "open its doors back to tourism"? SO MANY tourists staying at Disney resorts are either from NY, NJ, or Ct.

We have ressies for August. We are from NY.
Under the current order would we have to stay somewhere??..
For 2 weeks before we could legally leave a hotel to enjoy vacation?

I am optimistic that by August this will not be an issue .
But??

Ironic that right now NY residents are to quarantine when NY is currently around 500 cases per day and Florida is between 3-5k each day. I can't imagine even today they'd be implementing such quarantines on those traveling from NY.

CT had only 27 new positive cases yesterday-the curve has been very flattened. The reopening of the state has been so carefully done and the culture (at least where I live) is one of mask wearing. You are not allowed in any stores without a mask and people really seem to be following it. I am SO sad that Fla is seeing such a massive increase each day and seems to be heading in the opposite direction. I was really hoping to enjoy a resort-only stay before the parks open. Rooms are booked for a split-stay at Poly and CCWL...not sure what we are going to do. I understand the idea behind this new quarantine for people from the tr-state area returning from Fla. Since the cases are so low and the spread is under-control travel to an area like Fla could really set these states back. I am feeling conflicted and sad...we were SO looking forward to our trip. I would say at this point, we are 50/50.

We are doing a resort only trip mid July, not interested in attending any parks at this time. Personally, wearing a mask at a park in this very hot humid weather standing in a line, being around a lot of people in a park setting isn’t attractive to us at this time. We will defer till a vaccine is available. We were booked at BWV, but when we heard about Stormalong Bay, our fav pool, we switched and found availability at Riviera. We also have a 2 night stay at Hilton Head in July which we are very much looking forward to. If you decide to go, enjoy!

Really hoping that the quarantine is lifted on or before July 7th for the tri-state area. Governor DeSantis said today at a press conference that he is not as concerned for travelers coming from that area compared to when he put the quarantine in place. My trip is on July 12th and everything is finalized and ready, all I need is the quarantine to be lifted! If the order doesn't expire on July 7th, 5 days before my trip, I will be so upset I don't even know what I'm going to do.

Well it looks like the reverse just happened...the tri state area has now put a quarantine in effect for many states including Florida whose covid cases have spiked...I don’t know what that will mean for the Florida executive order or for those people with upcoming trips who will have to quarantine when they get home.

More info: if more than 10% of a states population has covid-19, you will have to quarantine for 14 days when coming to the tristate area. This is currently for 9 states including Florida.

so far it states residents from those states coming to us...does not specify if you are from NY NJ and CT and go there if you have to quarantine upon return

so when they are below 10% you are fine?

I watched the conference with the 3 governors and they said anyone coming in from affected states.

They didn't say, I would think there'd be a wind down period, "must be under 10% for X amount of time" or something
