How does the Frozen FP work? Is there stand by?

Do they give away more than fits in that section? I'd imagine that a certain percentage don't use their FP. Do they fill empty seats right before the show with stand by guests?

Where do we get them?

The process.

Get in line PRIOR to park opening, then head Straight to the Hyperion Theater (home of Frozen) as quickly as possible and find the line.

Cast Members actually hand out the passes, but will allow only one person in a group to get in line IF they have everyone's tickets.

As for stand by, do they allow it, the answer is yes, does it work, in reality no, there are very few open seats after those with passes are seated. So maybe 100 people in line get in, the last show tends to be the best, as more folks miss the return time on their FastPass due to doing other things, but it is still a very low number. Most stand by people wait around 2 hours, maybe a bit less.

One good thing, the Frozen FP (along with the World of Color one issued next to Grizzly River Run) don't count against being able to get a new one.

So have the entire group enter the park before opening, pick someone to be the "runner" and give them your tickets, the rest can go grab breakfast in the opened area before rope drop, basically coffee and pastries.

The runner goes to the east side of rope drop and finds the Frozen queue. Then head to "A Bug's Life" where the Radiator Springs Racers FP's are issued. Note the time printed to plan to get another "attraction" FP, and then Grizzly River Run for the World of Color FP. Then head back to your group and hook back up.

I have twice been given a FP from a CM outside of the machine process. The first time, we went to the FP center to find they were out. A FP CM came over and handed me 2 tickets for the show! The second time, we got in line but the early show was gone just as we got there (we had a reservation for later) but the CM told us to get FPs (for the later show) and then he traded us our 2 for 2 he had for the earlier show. I'm guessing that they have a certain number held aside for each show but I doubt if it's a lot.

We got in line before rope drop a couple of weeks ago (down the sidewalk on the left side of Buena Vista as you face the Hyperion) and then they led all of us around through the Mad Tea Party area and over to the machines when it was time. A CM did not give us the passes, we went through the machine kiosk. It was pretty quick.

Last Tuesday, I got in the standby line for the 11:30am show around 10:40 or so. The standby line gets seated in the balcony at the very top of the theater, and I got a seat in the first row. Excellent view of the stage!

Yesterday we got to the park around 10:30 with a 9AM opening. Got Fasts Passes for Frozen for second show (1:35). Got in line around 12:50 and were in the middle section (mezzanine). We could see great.

This is good info. I was just thinking to myself, "Do I send my family to do RSR first thing while I get FPs for Frozen, WOC, and then Soarin' or RSR?" But this means we can do our normal RSR together and I can the FPs after that.

Great info - thanks. Anyone know about when Frozen fastpasses run out for the day?

When we were there, when we came back to turn our pass in and get in line, they were gone for the day. That was about 12:50. So on a Sunday it was between 10:30 and 12:50. I know that's not very helpful....it's all I've got. :)

We were there this past Tuesday (non-early entry day, but also the second day the So. Cal Annual Passholders were back in the park after summer) and were able to get an Orchestra section FP for the 5:50 show at 12:15. Since Orchestra is the first section distributed, I would guess they still had FPs available by 1 even.
