How does the cast try to scare you at Hallow Horror Nites? What kind of characters ..

Open rides include:

Spiderman
Dr. Doom
Hulk Coaster (closes early)
1 Fish, 2 Fish
CaroSeussEl
Cat in the Hat
Poseidon's Fury
Shrek 4D
Mummy
Jimmy Neutron
Twister

There are two paths between IOA and USF (BTW, you enter through IOA), the Corn Field, and the Frightyard. The cornfield isn't scary at all, fairly wide paved paths, not narrow corn paths like some people were expecting. But, you have to take one of these two paths if you want to get to the other park.

The only places I remember seeing chainsaw people are in the Frightyard, Corn Field, and The Horror Night Nightmares Maze.

And No Jason or Michael Meyers this year.

Phamton- I can see why your husband would say that. The Fog wasn't widespread, only in specific areas, but where it was, there was tons of it. When do you plan on going?

I think the scariest part of HHN's is when the scareactors jump out at you in the dark, all of a sudden, in the houses. kinda like when somebody sneaks up behind you with a big BOO! and startles you. even the bravest of souls will yell when this happens :p so, you really can't prepare for that, just brace yourself when you enter.

When one gets after you (and they will) just stand your ground, look at them and smile with a "oh, thats a neat costume" attitude and they will turn and leave you alone and move on to their next victim.

I have seen many girls who are obviously trying to ACT scared. they are the ones who will be screaming their heads off all the while having a big smile on their faces. I call them the "squealers" or the "attention getters" who thrive on this sort of thing. they do play a good part in all this, making the sounds in the night sound like a murder is taking place. I just hate to be in front of them in the houses. I'm most definitly taking earplugs this year because one girl screamed just like a police whistle behind me last year all through a crowded house and my ears ached all night. (seriously!)

p.s nobody ever mentions this but watch out for pick pockets thieves who can steal from you in the dark without you ever knowing it. I know because someone tried this on me last year and I caught them in the act and the guy took off running. Linda

I'm going on every frequent fear night. Since my husband and the boys can go free any night, they went the first night. I got to stay home. :(

Here's what I did, and it worked out, not knowing it would.

I boguht a ticket for Friday night for the AP price of about $30.00. Went to HHN on Friday, and went to Vacation Services, and spent $16 to upgrade to Frequent Fear Pass. So for a peak night admission and a frequent fear pass, it was basically the same price as if I just bought a Frequent Fear pass.

So if we will be at Universal Studios that day, how do we and when do we
get to Islands of Adventur for entry to HHN? You can't enter thru universal?

i thought we would eat at 4pm (dinner) and walk back into universal at like
530pm? is this too late? will there be long linesS?

where do we go after we eat? (also, where should we eat?)

Help me....!! :earseek:

what is Frequent Fear Pass?

Frequent Fear pass is a ticket that allows admission to all Off Peak nights HHN is held (Wed, Thurs, and Sun)

The term for the way they scare you is called a "boo scare."

Basically, they hide, jump out, and say something, like "Get out of here." "What are you looking at?" "Go Away."

Scareators usually single out girls, because they react to the scare. Guys usually ignore it, causing scareators to get bored and give up on the guys. But it's entertaining even if us guys don't scream like a girl.

Frequent Fear pass gets you in to all off peak nights for one price.

But there are some guys out there that tend to jump easily and scream quite loud..... and theres nothing wrong with that :rolleyes1

i'm really :scared: scared now - to go. dh wants to go and we bought tickets already----

where do we enter?

where is Lombards Seafood, is it good?

What time should we eat dinner?

You enter HHN at IOA's entrance.

Lombard's is in San Francisco. It's one of USF's best restaurants.

I saw the list of rides that were open. I've never been to US before and I am going 10/14 for a private event. There is also HHN and I can't figure out how that is going to work. Are they just going to restrict us to a very small part of US? Any thoughts would be helpful. TIA

Not necessarily. Hollywood, the World Expo, Kidz Zone, and Amity are all closed off to HHN. If the two events go on at the same time, those are the areas you'll probably have access to. That's a larger area than the area of USF being used for HHN, but it has less attractions:

Men in Black
Back to the Future
E.T.
Terminator 2:3-D

Those are the main attractions in those areas. You'd have access to Jaws in Amity, but it's closed for refurb.

The scareactors are for the most part temporary USO employees. They did not know or recognize our VIP Tour Guide and when we went through the Fright Yard there were 2 guys that were trying very hard to scare Deanna because she appeared to be alone. She simply ignored them and it was kind of funny.
There was a lot of screaming going on but I question how much was genuine. We followed 3 middle aged ldies through Vampyr the second time and they were playing scared walking holding the shoulders of the one in front of them. The cast was basically trying to get them to move along and not scaring them at all. They were silly.
There didn't seem to be as many drunks this year.

This is very true. On Saturday I got to be a floating scare person in the temple queue. I found the express line is the best to scare people, especially when they're not expecting attractions to have people jump out at them. But they're in a cursed temple, so they should know to expect anything. :p

They had a special event on Saturday night at US running at the same time as HHN. They had a red carpet running to the entrance of Universal studios and a signs everywhere welcoming "A.D.A." It went fine even with HHN going on. You'll have a great time. You won't be able to ride the Mummy, Shrek, Jimmy Netron, and Earthquake but most of the rest of the park will be open for you.

Thanks for the quick responses! I was hoping we could hit Mummy that night, no such luck. I was debating on just IOA the next day, but now it seems we'll have to do the 2park/1 day pass. We'll have a great time either way!

They got my son in the queue on Friday and I thought it might be you. He said the guy that scared him was black and got a big kick out of it.
Whats the deal with the have you seen Reggie flyers they were handing out? Last seen getting latte?
Merlin jumped out at us in the DD queue and I thought the lady ahead of us would need recessitation!
:wizard:+ :jumping3:= :scared1:

It wasn't me. I didn't work Friday.

As for the Reggie flyers, they've got a few uses. The main one is to help strengthen the storyline. The production crew hasn't seen him and maybe with the flyer you, the extras, can help. The minions take the flyer and crumple them or rip them, because we have seen him, and we know that you share his fate.
