How does the booking process work?

FDH and I are taking a trip to WDW in about 2 months for vacation and are planning to check out our potential wedding locations. We're planning on doing an Escape at either YCG or SBP. However the same time were at WDW is also when we'll be 12 months away from our desired wedding date. How does the booking process work for Escape weddings? I thought I read somewhere there is a lottery process for dates and locations. How soon do you have to put up a deposit? Would we be in trouble if we waited till after the holidays? We're in the process of saving and budgeting for the wedding but if we need to come up with the deposit soon we need to plan for it.

Are you planning on having it around the holidays next year? that is a busy time so I would get your name penciled in as soon as you can...I think that they can pencil you in within a year and then I think 8 months in advance you can book your date.

There is a lottery if other brides want the same day and times as you.

Is the $500 deposit due when they "pencil" you in or once they confirm your date/time/location? How does payment work out after that?

The deposit is now $750, and it is due within 2 weeks of booking to secure (confirm) your date. After that, no payment is due until 30 days before your wedding, when the entire remaining balance must be paid.

how can you pay the balance? does it have to be a cheque or can you pay over the phone by credit card?
