I just saw that show for the first time on Friday night and while all of the audio-anamatronics kept coming up from the stage, I thought to myself "How do they do that? I have to ask that on the DIS" haha. I just thought it would be interesting to know how they fit all of those, I want to say "scenes" below the stage. My guess is that it is on some kind of storage "carousel". Thanks!

Close.
Its not a carousel, but a "platform" that rolls forward and backward allowing the different "scenes" to be thrust upwards into view on-cue.

The platform (I've heard it called the "War Wagon") rolls in an area below the audience and below the huge rear-projection screen.

As I understand it, you actually get to see how this works on the Backstage Magic tour. I'll be doing the tour myself in October, so I can't say that for sure first-hand yet, but that's what I've read elsewhere about the tour. Just a thought, if you're really interested, the next time you go!

We took the Backstage Magic tour, and Robo's description is correct. We also got to see Mark Twain without his hair and jacket (he was being worked on at the time).

I "got" to see Dolly Parton that way too, when SHE was being "worked on."

She, however was not an animatronic.
