How does the 180+10 work?

How does the 180+10 days work. Does it matter if you are renting points?

You can make dining reservations 180 days before your trip start date. If staying on Disney property, you can make reservations for up to 10 days (the "+10" portion) of your trip starting with your check-in date.

This is a benefit in that, if staying off property, you would either need to call/go online every day to make a reservation on the 180 day mark for each and every day of your trip or you'd need to wait until all of your trip's days fell into the 180 day window and then you could make them all at once.

I don't think it matters if you're renting points vs paying cash.
