How does Tampa(TPA) compare to MCO?

we are debating flying back from Tampa so we can spend a few days at Busch Gardens. We would fly back on Saturday -- either around 8am or 4:30 pm. Is Tampa easier to get through than MCO (security, crowds)? (This would be on Southwest).

Any input would be appreciated.

TPA is a somewhat smaller airport, though it isn't small; it just doesn't have the flight volume that MCO has. It also has trains from the terminal to the concourses. IME, the TSA in Tampa is much stricter than at MCO, but on the other hand, they have more time to be, since there are not as many passengers coming through.

Rental car return is a bit more difficult in Tampa because most of the companies are offsite. As long as you give yourself time for that if needed, you should be fine.
