How does renting points work?

We may be renting 175 points to a friend of my wife. I've never rented points out before. How does the whole thing work? I know that I'll make the reservation. Do I have to purchase all the things that go along (DDP, Tickets, etc.)? Or can they purchase this stuff and add it to the reservation? What control do they have over the reservation?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm new to this.

You put their name on the reservation. You get the money from them. You give them the reservation number and they can add it to My Disney Experience. You have to add the dining plan, but they need to pay you since you get charged for it when it is added. They can purchase tickets from anywhere, including direct from Disney or from a reseller like Undercover Tourist. But they want those as soon as possible so they have them to make FP+ (they do that themselves). You can set up their Disney's Magical Express if they need it. You own the reservation until they check in. Let them know they cannot change resorts, change size of villa, add nights or you will be charged the extra points it takes. They can make their own dining reservations at the Disney website once they get the reservation entered and 180 days hit.
