How does preferred seating work?

Do you wait in line for Aladdin or Turtle Talk with everyone else and they direct you to a certain area when you are inside? Or do go you through a separate entrance? We got this with our AAA package and I'd like to be sure I understand what to do with our vouchers when we get there. Thanks!

I was wondering this also. How do you get preffered seating in the first place. Do you call a number or do it when you get to DCA. Is the seating better?

It's been a few years, but we used it for Aladdin. If I remember correctly, when we got there, they had the folks with PS, wait in a different spot. There was a large waiting corral, and we were put in a different spot, and I'm pretty sure we went in through a different entrance. I'm sure we didn't call ahead.

No need to call ahead, there is a separate line for PS at Aladdin.

Did not notice PS at Turtle Talk last time we were there. I know there is a separate area in It's Tough to be a Bug.

Is the PS worth booking a package thru Disney to get? I had thought that I would book HOJOs and then get our tickets separately. Trying to determine if the "perks" are worth booking the package?

Thank you for any insight!

I still don't know how you get preferred seating. Do you need to go to the theater ahead of time?

The PS vouchers come with certain packages(AAA,Costco, Disney), you can not buy them direct. You go to a specific waiting area(directed by a CM) and you get first shot at the seating along with everyone else with the voucher. Disabled guests are let in first.

When I called on Saturday the CM explained to me with the package I was looking at it would cost roughly $100 extra to get priority seating at A Bug's Life, The Animation Show, Turtle Talk, and Aladdin. The price also included Toon Town Morning Madness and one Magic Morning. (side note...i asked about MM bc she said we got one with the package. I said if we stay on site don't we get to enjoy all MM that are offered during our stay. She was trying to avoid it so she could high light the fact that MM was part of the package she was trying to sell me. I only see MM as being a valuable part of the package if you are staying offsite and/or not getting 3+ parkhoppers...sorry for the tangent)

What! So I have to buy a package to get preferred seating. Not fair, I live in Socal and have no need of "packages".

That's why there are threads and waiting lists on here for vouchers for Aladdin and Toontown Morning Madness. :) A lot of us who have AP's or don't purchase packages for other reasons want the vouchers for those things but don't have access to them without a package. You can put your name on the list for vouchers for preferred seating for Aladdin. I'll see if I can locate the thread for you. :)

Well, don't feel too bad because I haven't heard that any of them are terribly important to have. Going off of PP's list of priority seating offers: A Bug's Life is not popular enough to need any kind of special seating (at least the last time i went), The Animation Show (is this Drawn to Life?) doesn't seem like it would be hard to get good seats for from what I've seen, Turtle Talk isn't hard to get into either, and Aladdin I've heard that some people prefer the non-PS seats anyway. Oh and while some people like TTMM, I've also heard several people say they didn't think it was that great.

I'm not trying to be negative about any of these things but just pointing out that you aren't missing out on anything really super great (from what i've seen and heard about). And like PP said, you could always get on the list for people giving away their vouchers. :)

The only "package" I did was to buy my tickets (no hotel) from AAA. I guess if you already have SoCal passes, then that wouldn't work. AAA sent a voucher with the tickets that has tear-off sections for the preferred seatings at a few shows. The tickets also say that we get free parking at the Mickey and Friends structure, so it was worth it to us to pay the $12 shipping in exchange for the 4 days of free parking.

Thanks to everyone who helped clarify what we need to do when we get there.
