How does PhotoPass work on Signature Passport?

I'm weighing the costs to getting one Signature Passport should we all do APs this year. I'm reading that the PhotoPass comes with this particular AP. First, how does that work. Do the photos go straight onto the AP? Second, how do you get those pics from home? Third, if we had a separate photopass card (if the family gets separated), can that be added to the AP downloads? Last, do I need to download the photos before the Signature AP expires, or would I lose them?

It mostly all works through the Disneyland app, at least that's how I use it. For ride photos, in the app there is a place to put the picture number from the ride's display. About 15 minutes later the pictures appears in your account and you can download it to your phone. Ones that have a photographer, they just scan your pass and sometime during the day the photos will appear in your account and you can download those to your phone also. If you get a photopass card, you can scan that barcode into the app also and those photos will appear.

I'm not sure how it works with the actual PhotoPass website.

Most of the information you asked is in the thread linked by the PP.

Third, if we had a separate photopass card (if the family gets separated), can that be added to the AP downloads?
Yes, you can enter the number associated with that card on the AP Photopass page. I did that on one of my previous trips so that I didn't have to keep getting out my AP to give to the PP photographer.

Last, do I need to download the photos before the Signature AP expires, or would I lose them?
Yes and no...you will lose access to the site when your AP expires. So in that way, if you do not intend to renew your AP, you will need to download them before your AP expires. However, if you renew your AP, your photos will still be there (until they expire 365 days after being taken).
