You probably want to check to see how many points are required for the size of unit that you need for the various resorts at whatever time of year you're interested in going. Just check out the points chart or point calculator at the top of any of these pages.
Once you've decided on what you want/need, you can either scan this rent trade board for someone advertising the number of points you need (or more), OR you can post a thread stating what you're looking for. If you're wanting to go sooner rahter than later or want a popular time of year, you'll probably need to be flexible. But if you are planning for later you can probably get what you're looking for.
Say you want to rent BCV this July, it might be a little harder than if you were going for the same thing in January (a few months later and a slower time of year).
When someone talks about their "home Resort" it means they can book 11 months ahead of time at that resort, but they can make reservations at any other
DVC resort 7 months ahead, too. So don't be put off by a post not advertising the resort you want, again unless it's a busy time of year--like Christmas.
