How does one pay for a Disney package purchased through their website?

I've never booked a package through WDW before. How does one pay for it? Is the down payment a certain percentage? Are there monthly payments? How long do you have to pay for it? I was just hoping for a quick rundown about how the process works.

Packages require a $200 deposit at the time of booking. It doesn't matter how expensive the package is, the deposit is always $200.

There are no required monthly payments. You just need to pay the remaining balance 30 days prior to arrival (or earlier).

You can make small payments on your own by clicking the "make a payment" link on MDE or you can telephone Disney. You can pay it off using a credit/debit card, Disney GC, Disney Rewards Card or DVA account number.

I also paid my balance off by using Disney Gift cards that I purchased online from Sam's Club.
If you have a Sam's club membership the Disney Gift Cards are Discounted on the total.
I saved quiet a bit on our total package.
You add each Disney Gift Card individually to pay down your package in "My Disney Experience" but I have been buying $500.00 cards and it doesn't take that long to pay down the balance.

Just don't toss out those GCs or Rewards Cards until your vacation is over! If you have to cancel your vacation or get a refund of some sort, the money will go back to the original form of payment...namely the GCs or Rewards Card.
