How does one hoard Tamiflu?

It's not like you can go to Walmart and buy it - you need a prescription. Do you have to fake symptons to get a prescription? Or could you just be buddy-buddy with your doctor and get them to write you up a prescription? In either case, it just seems wrong.

Does anyone else have personal experience with this drug? A few years ago I begged my doc to prescribe it to my son. Doc said it would not really help much....just shorten the symptoms by a day or 2. He was right. By the time you experience onset of symptoms, decide to go to doc and then take a day getting drug in your system, the worst part is over. I think it could benefit those with weak immune systems though.

My son took it two years ago - it did nothing for him and actually upset his stomach.

Mu mom asked her doc for a Tamiflu prescription in case of bird flu and he wrote it. If the docs refused to write we wouldn't have a hoarding problem.
