I ordered a computer from Dell as a Christmas present for DH & kids. When I ordered it, it said the expected ship date wasn't going to be until Dec. 1. Well, apparently things went along very smoothly and they shipped it out Monday! and the delivery date is set for tomorrow   What am I suppose to do with this computer??? I can't put it in my closet (since it's mine and DH's closet) or the kids' closets or any other closet for that matter. So what should I do with it??? Anyone have any good hiding place tips for Christmas presents???

Do you have a family member nearby that could hold it for you?

Hide it at work? Neighbor's house?

Send it to me?

Put it in the trunk of your car until you can find someone to hold it for you. How about a neighbor who does not have kids who will think it is theirs?

Neighbors! It wouldn't fit in my trunk.

I've had things delivered to me at work in the past, that worked out well. My coworkers felt like they were in on the surprise!

Well, I don't really know my neighbors that well and my nearest relative is over 20 miles away. I guess that might work though since we go over there for Christmas anyway. I started thinking about the kitchen pantry because he NEVER goes in there, but knowing my luck as soon as I put it in there he would find a reason to go in the pantry. I don't know if it would be good for a computer to keep it in the trunk???

Good luck! We're hiding a 20" tv for our daughter right now.:)
Now to make sure she doesn't have a need to go out to the storage house.....

you can buy brown paper wrapping from staples, just wrap the box in that and stick it back in the pantry, then if he does happen to wander into it he'll just see the brown instead of the computer box... maybe that's an idea?

I'd go with family & especially if you will be going there over Christmas. That would be the last place he would expect there to be a computer for him.;)

Good luck. I just had to hide 2 pairs of rolleblades for my boys, was really scratching my head as to where on earth I could possible hide them where they are not going to be easily discovered. I found the perfect place.....inside two suitcases.:D

they probably never put anything away if they're like mine kid.

Some ideas...

Can you put it in an even bigger box, wrap it and put a bow on it?? Then it will look like something else. Add an old paper towel roll or some other oddly shaped item to stick off the side so you can really stump them.

Do you have a way to get to your attic space? It might be kind of heavy to lift up there, but you could try it if it would fit.

Neighbors and friends are a good idea.

You could also hide it in a box under some clothes and label it to iron or to donate.

Laundry room under a big pile of blankets, so it just looks like a big pile of laundry.

No matter where you hide it, wrap it in brown paper first and label it something else, like Xmas dishes or knitting supplies or some other inane thing so if it does get found no one will suspect.
