How does MDE assign tickets to days if have multiple tickets in account?

On my MDE account I have a 7 day pass on each person, as well as a 1 day pass on each. When I go to the parks and use them for my next trip, I'd like to make sure it uses the 7 day passes and not the 1 day passes (I'll use those at a later date).

Any way to assure that takes place?

Are the tickets date based? If so, it shouldn't be an issue.
If they don't have an assigned start date (or are both the same), you can visit guest services before entering the park and ask them to prioritize the tickets you want to use. I'm not sure if it can be done by phone.

Definitely visit guest services. I had a 1day park Hooper and annual pass and it used my 1 day pass first.

It IS a problem even if some are dated! For us, DH had a one day DATED ticket, to use on Day 1, so we assumed that is what it would use. And he had a 3 day ticket. On day 4, which should have been fine, to use that 3rd day on the multi day pass, we were stopped, no valid ticket. Why is the world would the system bypass a ticket good only on one particular day, and instead pull a day off the 3 day pass? Who knows. Cost us 30 minutes to straighten out, there was a line at guest relations. UGH. Lesson learned, prioritize the tickets.

The truth is your question is irrelevant because regardless of how many people tell you what is supposed to happen - we've heard too many stories of it not actually happening that way in practice!!! As others have said - visit guest services beforehand to make sure it's done correctly (and then visit guest services later to make sure!!!)

While I agree that visiting guest services prior to entering a park is the best strategy here, you can see in your MDE if the proper ticket was used, after you enter the park. So the second visit would only be needed if it was done incorrectly the first time, i.e that you can see the wrong ticket was used.

Another fool-proof strategy is to temporarily reassign the ticket you don’t want used to a dummy profile in your account. So if your main profile is for Sally, create a “Fake Sally” or whatever profile, and reassign the ticket. Then reassign it back to yourself when you know you are visiting again and want to make a park reservation.

The reason I don't want to reassign my ticket is because I made my original PP reservations using an AP voucher and I am afraid it will mess something up.

I later bought a 3day ticket which I plan on using first. Is it ok to assume that it will be used first since I have to actually activate the AP voucher before using it?

Oh no! We have a 4 day ticket and a one day ticket dated 2 days towards the end of our trip. I hope we don’t go the last day and they tell us no ticket.

Stop by guest services before you enter the park and have them prioritize your ticket.

I try not to assume anything when it comes to Disney IT, even what seems obvious. I’d still make a stop at guest services to double check.

Thanks for the responses. I did as was recommended above and created a dummy profile to hold extra tickets i dont want used yet.

Can you do this at your hotel when you check in? I don't really want to waste time at guest services my first day at the park.

I'm pretty sure I have done this in the past. I agree about not wanting to waste time on more lines than necessary.

I know I can’t reassign it because it is 2 days remaining from a non-expiring ticket. And I don’t really want to set up a dummy acct for my current ticket because I am linked with another person that I am managing their ticket and reservations. Arriving at 6:00 the night before and staying at Coronado so it isn’t really convenient to travel to a park that night to get it out in order. Could I call the hotel and ask if they can?

We have legacy 10 days never expires tickets with 4 days still on our accounts. We've had Annual Passes and separate stay tickets for specific trips - we always have our Resort Desk check the order of tickets on the accounts to make sure it doesn't accidentally start using our Never Expires tickets. We had the system try to use a day of the Never Expires instead of the damn Annual Pass - so I definitely do not trust them.

Well, calling the hotel in advance won't help. You actually can't call Disney hotels directly. Even when you are there and call the front desk, you reach a call center.

You could visit the concierge desk in person on your arrival night, and ask them to check the priority of your tickets. But I'd still double check as soon as you enter the park, in your account, to ensure the correct ticket was used. And if it wasn't, get it cleared up right away at guest services.

I have called in advance to have tickets prioritized. Last time, however, the CM didn't do it right so the tickets were not used correctly. Fortunately, when I got back home I was able to call and have the problem fixed. So we got our 3 day tickets back.

Ok..... adding a "fake me" to my MDE..... I can do that? If my ticket that I don't want used is completely unused, I can switch it back and forth between names (until I decide to use it?)

Yes. Just be aware that if you have used the "saved" ticket to make any park reservations, those won't transfer between profiles.

ok..... now I'm confused (again) I am trying to sift down thru details of doing this in my mind- if I attach the unused multi day ticket into my account ,and then make a park reservation, then I choose to use a *different* ticket attached my account for entry instead, I can no longer sitch it to a 'fake me' profile to use at a later time? Does this mean that, say I had 3 different tickets in my account,my profile, none of those, even completely unused tickets, can be switched to another 'fake me' profile etc for another use if I've made a park reservation at all on my account?
