How does Le Cellier compare to Yachtsmen?

My guys love their steak....how do these two restaurants compare (aside from the obvious DDP 2TS v. 1TS).

I've eaten at both. I've had remarkably bad luck at Le Cellier, getting dry and gristly steaks both times I've eaten there. I've only eaten at Yachtsman Steakhouse once, and it was an incredible experience. If you're really putting aside the 2TS versus 1TS consideration, then definitely go with Yachtsman Steakhouse.

While we enjoyed Le Cellier, there was nothing really overly great. It was a good meal and I thought I would go back there again. Then I ate at YSH and was WOWed! We had an amazing meal there and everything was perfect. I have been back there 2 more times and those visits did not disappoint either. After eating at YSH,I don't think I will be going back to Le Cellier again.

Le Cellier = Outback Steakhouse, Friday's, Applebee's
Yachtsman Steakhouse = Morton's, The Palm, Ruth's Chris

That is roughly how they compare. Yachtsman is the clearly superior restaurant in all ways - quality of beef, service, ambience, etc.

Personally, our last visit in March we tried Yachtsman and thought it was nothing special. LeCellier is ok, although I have to admit not liking some of their menu changes...It is ok steak. I think Shula's has them all beat...http://www.swandolphin.com/dining/signature.html

Shula's incredible. We had a company event there during a conference a couple of years ago. Mind-blowing.

Too bad it isn't on the Dining Plan.

Our visits to Yachtsman Steakhouse have been fabulous. Definitely more upscale (without being snooty) than Le Cellier. Food and service were impeccable.

We've done both several times. Both are good, but the Yachtsman is the better of the two. Great service, food and ambiance.

We would rank the on-site steakhouses as follows:

1. Shula's
2. Yachtsman
3. Le Cellier

with Shula's way out ahead of Yachtsman, and Yachtsman way out ahead of Le Cellier. We ate once at Le Cellier ahd haven't bothered to go back. We've done Yachtsman a couple of times and enjoyed it. We've eaten at Shula's the most often by far because it has truly exceptional beef and wonderful lobster.

IMHO, Yachtsman is hands down my choice over Le Cellier. The food is much better and the sevice is wonderful. At Le Cellier, the tables are so close together it makes a very unpleasant atmosphere.

Our experience was that the Yachtsman was awful. Ive had better steaks at the Outback. We went to LeCellier twice last year and had 2 great meals. LeCellier was only 1 credit too! I wouldnt compare either of them to Ruths Chris but of the 3 experiences, LeCellier was much closer.

Give it a try.

Had one great meal at LeCellier, years ago, and then two mediocre ones lately. Now we skip it. Yachtsman is good, we actually really enjoy the steaks at a hidden gem, the Concourse Steakhouse at CR. Nothing fancy but good food, good service and quick turnover to get you back to MK.

We much prefer Yachtsman. We found Le Celier to be too noisy, too cramped (we were seated at about 8:30p.m. right next to a family with very tired, cranky children and it was difficult for us to even have a conversation with each other.) While we didn't feel the steak was of the same quality as Yachtsman, the rest of the meal was very good and we would definitely revisit Le Celier for lunch, just not for dinner. We've eaten several times at the Yachtsman and have had wonderful service and a great meal every time. Would like to try Shula's one of these days, too.

We've eaten at both of these restaurants, and I would say the food quality is fairly similar. We've had very good service at both restaurants, so that wouldn't be a factor for us. There's no question that Yachtsman is a calmer, more upscale environment, though. My choice would be Le Cellier at 1 credit, rather than Yachtsman at 2 credits, unless a calm, unhurried atmosphere was really important.
