How does IOA compare to...say..a local Six flags park?

Just remember Disney Sea was built AFTER IOA. Me thinks that they saw and got inspired.

Actually I think it's more like half of the staff working on DisneySea were probably let go by Disney early on and went to work at Universal and they started their own similar projects.

Sounds about right.Wasn't Disney Sea originally designed for the DCA space in CA? if so, those plans have been around for along time.

I live not too far from Six Flags in Jersey and we never go there
Once you've been to Universal/IOA, you are spoiled for life.
Plus. like you mentioned, their coasters are always breaking down
Not a good sign

we live about 3 hours from paramont kings island in ohio and live about 2hours from a six flags ky kingdom and have to say ioa blows them both away and yes the food is much better and believe it or not the food prices are alot cheaper and ioa is also cleaner and have to say people that work and come to ioa and us are much nicer cause the parks close to me i have only experianced rude and nasty people and employees.

We are doing Universal this year and my kids are refusing to go to IOA because thiey think it's like our local Six Flags park.

Is it really that different from Six Flags?

are they paying for the trip?

We go to SFOG every year, so to compare IOA to that:

IOA is 1000 percent better themed, SF has no theming whatsoever. IOA has 5 sections, each section or "island" has its own distinct and extensive theming.

IOA is much cleaner than SF.

The employees at IOA seem to be better trained and more in tune to guests' needs. The majority of SF employees just don't seem to care, or at least the ones in Atlanta don't. Universal team members have always been so friendly to me and my family.

And, with the 7 day ticket, the price per day is cheaper than visiting SF.

Hope your family gives IOA a chance! You will enjoy it!

We live about 30 minutes from SF and we never go there.

The last time our family went to SF, which is only about 30 minutes away, my kids commented on how dirty the park was. They were right too. Trash cans overflowing, food left on tables or on the ground, cigarette butts everywhere. We definitely prefer IOA/USF and the Disney parks
