How does fast pass work anyway?

I realize you have a booked time. So say I have one for 3pm, do I just show up at 3pm and walk right on? What if there are people ahead of me standing in line that don't have one till 3:15 or something? How do they organize the line if there's varied times?

You get a one hour window - provided you are there between say, 3-4 for your time, you will walk in with little or no wait.

In theory. ;)

Anyone who shows up before their time will have to step aside and wait for their 3:15-4:15 window.

That makes sense, thanks! :)

The do not organize the line after you get in. If you are within your time frame, you are allowed into the shorter fastpass line. Once in that line, the line runs the same as a standby line. Those in front of you will get on the ride first even if the start time of their fastpass in before yours.

So, if you show up for your time frame (3:00 to 4:00) at 3:30 but another family's timeframe is 3:15 to 4:15, they will still ride before you if they get in the fastpass line before you do at 3:30.

Hope that makes sense.

Yep, makes sense! So if someone's pass is at 3:15 and they get there at 3:00, they won't be allowed in line until 3:15?

They will be asked to move away from the tapstile area. A Fp+ holder can arrive 5 minutes before their window and the tapstile Mickey will turn green indicating a valid entry.
