Yes, I know that you're going to answer "hang out on here" but besides that.

Me and my best friend Ariel (note: we share this account) both love Disney World. In about a day we're taking a virtual trip to Disney World. Yes, we're freaks. But its a good thing.

Before my last trip I used paper chains to rip off each day. As I got closer, the chain shrunk.

So, what do you guys to to get excited for Disney/count down?

OK, spill it - what do you do for your virtual trip to WDW?!? :earsgirl:

I end up going to the Disney Store WAY more than I should the closer to my trip it gets. I walk around and find stuff I would normally buy then buy Disney Dollars w/ the money instead for the trip. :)

I bought a Christmas Mickey wall hanging a couple years ago at Downtown Disney that has three number blocks then says "Days till Christmas"...I just changed it in my mind to mean "Days to WDW" and I change the blocks everyday.

I might have to try the paperclip chain though at the office so I'll have something to do each morning. :p

It don't take much for me to get excited about going on a trip. Before, I used to make a countdown by tearing off a number from my countdown till the days of my trip, but I have to just wait and be patient now. It's so exciting when you are going to go and is there, but when you come back :( .

I go to the Official Disney Site and look at all of the parks' attractions, I talk about going to other people who will listen to me (I've gone so many times, many don't want to hear it anymore), I look at pictures on many unofficial Disney sites, I read books and magazines, I look at old theme park maps (I know this one is pitiful! LOL), and I have several groups I have joined and read all of the emails about Disney. My son counts the weekends, makes it seem like it's not so far away. Instead of saying we have 131 days, it's only 19 weekends!

You want me to spill? okay, ill spill. and yes, im a freak.

okay, we're turning the heat up really high, wearing shorts, eating overly salty popcorn, and watching the WDW travel DVD. For lunch, we're having chicken caesar salad. (how many WDW restaurants have that? lol)

I spilled. Insult me now. :teeth:
watch, im gonna start a DIS trend here ;)

Make loads of character meal ressies, go through clothes and plan outfits for each day, make lists of things we must do, watch prior vacation videos, listen to cds with resort and park music, talk about it, talk about it, talk about it...ohhh...sorry...and visualize, almost like a meditation, before bed.

First I buy my new unofficial guide, and start reading. I dig out Birnbaums and look at the pictures. I get the newest planning video. I get obsessed with planning, looking for what new experiences/restaurants I can go to. Hang out on the net looking at Disney stuff. I've been in this mode for weeks now. I'm watching for my 90 days out to finally come so I can start making PS.

Looking at old pictures :) Also, watching my videos of the parks, coming on here, watching Disney movies.

I did something special for my SO this trip. It's his first trip (at age 31) since he was 10 years old. So every day at our job (we work together) I send him an email I made up with a description and photos of various rides , shows, restaraunts. He gets one item per day. :)

It's fun for both of us.

:)

EsmeraldaX - I LOVE your idea about the emails! I'm taking a 36 yr old kid on his first "real" WDW trip (other was just for a night) and I might have to do this!
:p

:p

My boyfriend LOVED it. We both have a long commute to our job, and get in very early, so every morning , I would go online, to various sites and get some pictures and info and give him my opinion and tell what I thought he'd like about it. He keeps them all in a folder on his email, and we're going to print them all out to re-read on the plane on the way !
:)

Polish pennies! BTW, it is at this point my DH thinks I can't possibly get any more crazy about the trip!! Little does he know.....

Do want the entire 100 or just my top ten things I do? Ok, here's my list:

1. Answer surveys like this one!

2. Shop for vacation clothes, especially Disney themed. Just bought some baby tees at Walmart for around $7.00, 4 of them. This also means frequent trips to the Disney Store to check out if they're having any sales, which they were this weekend. Found $9.00 tees that are twice the price at the online store.

3. Look for pics on the internet of our resort, the Beach Club.

4. Buy new luggage which I did already. Now all we need is luggage for DH and carry ons for our boys.

5. Practice with my new Canon digital camera so I'll be a pro once we go.

6. Did I mention shopping already? Well, I don't just shop for clothes. I'm already stocking up on toiletries, sundries, over the counter meds, moleskin, sandals/shoes (gotta break 'em in 'ya know), etc., etc.

7. Watch anything WDW related on the Travel Channel.

8. Read my Passporter, go to Borders every other week and spend hours reading the guidebooks there, especially the Unofficial Guide.

9. Log on to TourGuideMike and read the extensive articles.

10. Try to fall asleep at night picturing our departure day from LAX.

11. I've book marked a website that has pictures of airplane cabins. We're flying Song for the first time and have already seen the interior of the planes! Showed the pics to the kids who got very excited!

12. Like others, talk about my trip to anyone who'll listen, mostly just close friends because they're the only ones who'll put up with me. Happily offer help to anyone thinking about going, that way I get to talk about our trip some more. You'd be surprised at how many people actually ask questions.

13. Work and rework our itinerary. I'll be making our first PS next week. We're doing Universal as well and Emeril's takes reservations 6 months out. Woo hoo!

14. Watch the planning DVD of course.

15. Read other people's trip reports.

16. Go over my list of people I need to get souvenirs for over and over to make sure I haven't missed anyone.

17. Tease my kids and tell them that I know something they don't. They don't know about our side trip to Universal, it's a big secret! Won't tell them until the limo picks us up at the Beach Club and we pull into the Royal Pacific driveway.

18. Pack. I started packing as soon as I started buying clothes last month.

I could go on and on! Do I sound obsessed? This is our first trip to WDW you know! We'll be in Florida 17 glorious days, 9 at WDW, 4 at Universal and 4 in Miami. Florida, here we come!!!

I visit the DIS a couple times a day and beg my count down timer to hurry up!
