How does early check-in and parking work?

We are going to Universal in August and have one night booked at Royal Pacific. I know we can check in as early as 6am to get our express passes but I don't actually know the logistics of doing that. Where do we park? Can you walk from the hotel to the park or is there a shuttle? I'd appreciate if someone can walk me through this process.

Its easy.You will pull up to the main entrence of the resort,the empolyees will ask if you want valet or self parking.I go with self parking.They will ask if you need help with your luggage and I always say you can take the wife and kids!! But you can utilize this service and they will stow your bags and deliver them to your room if wanted and tip accordingly.Go to the front desk and check in.You will be given your room key card for each in your party.Then go back to your car and go park it.

They will ask for your cell# to call you when your room is ready.

I usually just drive to the parking lot, just take a ticket from the machine, you can throw it away as your room key will allow you access to parking once you get it.
Its a 7 minute walk from RPR to Citywalk , and the parks a few minutes more along a path beside the waterway, or you can take the water taxi, usually quicker walking unless there is a watertaxi waiting to go.
