I know for hard ticket events like MNSSHP, we get a wristband. But I don't recall us having to go anywhere for anything special just for EMH. Normally, I don't care. But with how crowded AK has been because of Pandora, is there someone checking MagicBands? I'm thinking of adding on a night on Aug 19th to take advantage of the last EMH at AK till midnight. But..if it is still going to been somewhat crowded, I won't bother.

For evening EMH they are supposed to check your magic band as you are getting in line for the rides to confirm you are a resort guest. In my experience, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. I would imagine they will be checking in pandora though.

I've never had them NOT scan our bands as we entered each ride for evening EMH. Admittedly we don't do them each night, only occasionally during our trips, but they have been very consistent in checking every single time we enter a ride. Maybe they are getting better. This is in Pandora and elsewhere. For morning they have checked as we entered the park vs. entered the ride

Like said they scan your band/ticket prior to entering a ride to verify you're on site.

But off site guests are not made to leave the park, they can still stick around and enjoy shops and food. They just can't ride rides

Same here. We have always had our bands scanned, or back in the day, had to show our room key in order to get onto rides.

When we did EMH at AK a few weeks ago they weren't screening people to enter Pandora. We didn't ride any rides so I can't speak to that, but anyone was free to enter the land and wander around/eat/shop.

On my trip (6/7 - 6/11) they were scanning Magic Bands at the entrance to Pandora (on the bridge by Tiffins) during EMH. You were not allowed into the area if you were not part of EMH. In addition they were also checking bands at the two attractions.

I've had my band scanned before, but there has been occasion when somebody just asked me where I was staying, which didn't seem like the most secure thing ever. Anybody can just say Coronado or whatever and keep on going.

I've had my band not checked on some of the less popular rides. I specifically remember not having it scanned when riding figment. They always have scanned on top tier attractions.

Everyone is free to enter Pandora or roam any other park. Off site guests just have to be within the main park entrance before EMH begin.

It's only rides where off site guests aren't allowed during EMH

Funny story. EMH at HS, a few years ago.

My husband and I are riding RnR, a couple of times. And our son is riding ST, over and over.

We walk over to join our son for a ride.

He waves at the CM and walks through the line. The CM stops us to scan our band.

We ask why. "Oh, Dson? He's been through about 10 times. His parents are on RnR." pixiedust:pixiedust:

FWIW, Pandora wasn't that crowded the day we visited (June 13th) and it was nearly empty other than the FoP queue by the time we left at midnight. The crowds from the initial weeks really seemed to die down quickly.

We were there in May for EMH at Epcot and they did not scan the bands in the evening. I felt it defeated the whole purpose as the rides were really crowded.

That irritates me. EMH is supposed to be a major perk for staying on property. The people who aren't staying onsite and take advantage of ignorant cast members irritate me as well.

Since policing became easier through electronic detection, I have found that the CMs are more thorough than they were back in the day.

Last trip they only scanned one of us in our party and waived the rest through.

But as we can see from above "Disney is doing Disney" and no one has any solid answer for you.
