We are planning our first trip in May to WDW!!!
Our daughter will be 22 months at the time.
We are considering the dining plan because DH and I LOVE LOVE LOVE to eat :hyper:
How does the dining plan work for our daughter? I know we don't pay for her, but does that mean she just shares with us? Or will she be able to get her own meal, snacks etc? Will we pay for those out of pocket? Or is it truly "kids under 3 eat free" in the sense that you can order something just for them?

Thanks for your help!!!

If it is a buffet, then they just eat off the buffet. If you each order a meal, then she shares with you or you pay OOP for something for her.

Your DD will be able to eat for free at all buffets and pre-plated all-you-care-to-eat restaurants such as:

-all character meals (CRT, Garden Grill, CP, LTT, 'Ohana, Cape May, Norway Princess meals, Donald's Restaurantsaurus, 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's)
-Boma
-Cape May
-'Ohana
-Biergarten
-Hollywood & Vine
-Trail's End
-Whispering Canyon Cafe (as long as you order the all-you-care-to-eat skillet, not off the a la carte entrees)

If you go to a la carte restaurants, DD can eat off your plate for free. If you order her her own kids' meal, though, you will be charged the kids' meal price. Same with all the counter service restaurants- if you order her a kids' meal, you will have to pay for it.

If you do the Dining Plan, you will have LOTS of food- unless she won't eat what you are eating, you really won't ever need to buy her her own meal- there is so much to eat!!

We were on the dining plan in October and my dd was 24 months old. She hardly eats anything anyway, but it was no problem when she would share with me or my dd, at crt & wcc they brought her her own plate of food. On the dining plan there is way too much food, that unless your dd eats like a full grown man, you won't have a problem.
