So if I book 8 nights at AKV in a 2 bedroom with 4 adults, 2 children, and want to do the magic your way with dining, can I? I looked at Disneys website to price tickets only, but it didn't seem to be an option that way. Would I book that through Member services, or is DDP not an option? Also, are there prices of the tickets plus dining somewhere? Thanks!

Hey, You are correct, you would book it through member services. You have to let them know 48 hours before you arrive that you want the DDP and then pay for it when you check in. Tickets for the parks can be bought when you arrive at the member services desk at the hotel. Just remember you must call member services 48 hours before arrival if you want the DDP.

Have a great trip!

They dont do it as a package. But you can add the dining plan and add tickets. But you have to add the dining plan before you get there but you dont pay for it until you check in. You have to have the dining plan for the total number of nights that you stay and for everyone in your party. The tickets you can buy whatever you want to.

You can do this anytime as long as it is 24 hours before check in.Unless that has changed but i know thats how it was.

But like the MYW plan, everyone in the party must book the same dining plan for the entire length of stay. And you don't have to wait until 48 hours out, you can call MS as soon as you decide you want it. Then you pay for the DDP when you check in.

Are you not allowed to pay for DDP in advance? If not, why? For some strange psychological reason, it just makes me feel better when everything is paid for in advance.

No you cannot pay for it in advance and I dont know why you cant.but thats how it has always been.

If you want to pay in advance either send a payment to the credit card company you will be using so that it arrives a day or so after your check out date or carry some travelers' checks or cash and pay when you check in. That will leave you with a zero balance for that part of your trip. The last two times I have spoken with MS they have said that the DDP must be booked or cancelled 48 hours before arrival. It used to be up to the time you walked through the door to check in so you could have called from the airport when you landed but that is obviously no more. You were never able to add it once you got to the desk.
You can get your tickets from Disney in advance- save a few dollars, or from a ticket broker or buy when you get there.

From my understanding is you have to pay for it at check in because MS is not set up to take cash payments ( cash, credit card ...)

Member Services does't have the accounting software built into the reservation system like CRO, so they are unabl to take pre-payments for tickets or the DDP. Since there are so few things that would even require prepayment, (as the rooms are paid with points) why spend the extra $$ on programming...they have enough computer problems as it is.
