How does CRT breakfast compare to CRT Dinner?

So my vacation isn't for another year, but I am just curious. On our last trip we ate at CRT for Dinner and weren't really impressed with the food. My kids LOVED the Princesses and LOVED the fact that we were eating in the castle but the food was just OK. Usually we do Akershus Breakfast but now that Garden Grill has opened for Breakfast I figured we could do that instead of Akershus and that would free up a dinner slot so we could try something new in World Showcase. If I was to do this then my kids would not get their princess breakfast. Now I know cost wise and dining credit wise Akershus is better, but like I said my kids want to try new stuff and they really liked eating in the castle, just didn't like the dinner food. I know I am probably over thinking this and I know out trip is still a year away but I dream of going back so I like to plan things out, LOL

We've had both breakfast and dinner at CRT. Dinner was not great, but we (two adults without children) really loved breakfast and always make a reservation. The choices are a little unique and a bit upscale to sort of match the high price tag.

thanks so much! My family are big breakfast fans so we like all things breakfast thats why I was thinking of doing this for breakfast instead of dinner...plus then we would get 2 pre park entry days instead of our 1 day when we go to Crystal Palace. I always try for the 8AM spots :-D

I was not impressed with the breakfast. My kids, like OPs, loved the princesses and being in the castle, but it's hard to justify the price. I am a huge table service person and make tons of reservations every trip, so I don't mind pay more than what food is worth. This isn't an every trip place for me.

So I really want my kids to experience some of the 2 credit things and now I am thinking what does everyone think of California Grill? I hear a lot of good things about it and eating at the tip of the contemporary is probably an experience in itself

we love cali grill. however, no way in teh world I'd bring my kids prior to like age 15 there
1. cost
2. just the overall feel

with that being said I did bring my kids to flying fish and felt that was a better atmosphere and they could see food being made....maybe citricos would be similar to that too

We really enjoyed the breakfast. It wasn't necessarily a good value for the price, but then again you are really paying for the experience. The food was all above average based on comments from our party of 8.

I've never done CRT for dinner but have gone for breakfast several times.

IMO, 90% of what you're paying for is the experience as we think the food and service are very mediocre (I've eaten at a lot of WDW table service restaurants and would rank it at the bottom for food value).

We keep returning for breakfast because we love the experience of having a pre-park opening ADR that includes walking down a nearly empty Main Street followed by eating in the castle while being visited by princesses. Then, once breakfast is over, we have a jump on the Fantasyland attractions.
