From what I am grasping (waiting for my first contract to clear!) I CAN combine points from two resorts at the 7 month window? Help!
And thanks!

Okay, so the number of divisions would equal the number of contracts that you are combining, and only at the 7 month window, correct? Thank you for replying! You make 2 or more reservations.
I have 2 contracts at different resorts. With Contract 1 (SSR), I book Sunday through Wednesday at BCV. With Contract 2 (WVL), I book Thursday trough Saturday at BCV. I then call member services and have them link the reservation so that I do not have to change rooms midway.
Okay, so there really is a benefit to having the same UY. It sounds like different UY are still doable, just complicated. If your contracts for different resorts have the same use year, then you can just combine the points at 7 months out for a single reservation.
If the contracts have different use years, then they cannot be combined for a single reservation. As stated above , you can just make two separate reservations, one for the start of the trip and one for the end, and then have Member Services link the reservations, which will prevent having to move rooms. Your other alternative is to transfer points from one use year to the other, and then you can combine those points to make a single reservation (although that kind of reservation can only be done via call to MS and not done online)
Since the contracts are for different resorts, then cannot be used to reserve any single resort at 11 months out.
Thanks! This really help me understand what my portal will look like. Now I just have to resist buying another contract while I wait on ROFR for my first!Different UY are different memberships. So unless you have a reason to get more than one, or buy contracts large enough in a different UY to work, staying with the same one makes 7 month reservations easier.
You just choose your reservation and it will give you the option to order which resort to use first. For example, you have 100 points in one and 75 in another. At 7 months, you have 175 to use. If you needed, for example, 130, you would choose which points to use first and fill in from the second. This could be important as one resort may be one you’d rather save points at to use at 11 months.
I do this with one of my UYs..I have 3 but also 800 points so it works...I have both BWV and SSR points. When I am adjusting at 7 months I always have them pull SSR before BWV so that I can save those for the trips I want to book at 11 months there.
As long as you are booking at seven months out when you want to use the points from the second resort, if I understand what you are saying. It should ask you what points you want to use.I don't want to highjack the thread, but have a similar follow up question. If I am using two different resorts, same use year, both with banked points, how do I make sure that the reservation uses the banked points from each resort first? Can I make the reservation with one resort and then when we close on the 2nd contract, tell it to use the banked points from the 2nd one before using current use year points?
No, you didn’t luck out. Transferring points between memberships , even when they are not owned by the same persons, is permitted. Either in or out, once per UY. Sometimes, MS will waive the “once per UY rule” when both memberships are owned by the same person(s).Um, maybe I lucked out but I just made a reservation at VGC within the 7 month window & happened to be short 7 points. I expected to purchase them as one time points but MS was able to draw from another contract (diff UY & resort) & combine with my other contract to fulfill the reservation. I didn’t think that could be done, & I actually asked MS twice, but the reservation is all confirmed....![]()
