How does Child Swap work at DL

We did it at US in Orlando but never at DL. We actually tried it once at WDW and found it a pain so didn't use it again there.

How does it work at DL ? Is it easy to use ? Do all the rides have it ? And do you stand in the normal line or the fast pass line to use child swap ?

At US we sometimes were told to use the fast pass line for child swap. So I'm wondering what we should do at DL.

TIA

If I remember correctly YOu stand in the regular line and when you get to a castmember you ask for the swap pass. Once your partner comes back we always go back thru the FP line or up to the castmember if there is no FP line.

The first parent to ride can request a child swap pass from the CM at the ride; they'll hand over a colored card that has some printed info on it, though I honestly don't remember what it said. After Parent1 exits the ride, s/he hands the pass to Parent2, who then can go in the fastpass line for that ride.

We only used it on Indy and Splash Mountain, so I'm really not sure how it works on non-fastpass rides, though I believe you can get a child swap pass on any ride your child is too small or too scared to ride.

I think I've read that if there is no fastpass line, Parent2 stands in line with Parent1 up to a certain point, then waits while Parent1 rides; then Parent1 returns to take the child, and Parent2 goes on the ride (without having to wait in line again, which of course is the whole point.)

Also, if you have an older child who is eligible/willing to go on the ride, that child can ride with each parent, essentially getting to ride it twice on one child swap. DS6 loved this!

You don't always use the FP line, on Space Mountain, you get to go through the exit que. :)

Thank you all so much ! We will have 4 kids with us but only one will be 3. The rest will be teens. The kids loved being able to go on twice when we did it at US when the baby was only 7 wks old lol.

really? i thought you just go and trade child with another family and then go home? ;)

but yea, what other says sounds right :)
