How does Candlelight Processional weekend affect fireworks & F!

Anyone been to DL on the CP weekend and still been able to see the fireworks & F!? I am curious if DL adds F! or fireworks to additional days when they have the CP. Or if the beginning of Dec typically has nighttime shows on more days that just the weekend.

Xmas fireworks are nightly. But CP is earlier in the evening and doesn't effect fireworks or F!

So there are fireworks and F! on the same night as the CP? I had thought the CP was in the later evening. What time does it run? I wonder how this will affect WOC. I am trying to decide if I should switch our dates bc it seems that a lot of people are going the same time I am and it looks like hotel prices are higher on most of our dates. I am trying to decide on what dates we should go for the lowest crowds. We have young kids (6 & 3) so late nights are not really an option for us. What dates do you think would have the lowest crowds? Some of my date thoughts/options are:
- Dec 1-8
- Dec 5-12 (my original planned dates but no resv made yet)
- Dec 7-15
Any advice or ideas on when the best times for low crowds would be?

When I went to the CP in 2008, the fireworks started about 20 minutes later give or take than their usual 9:25pm start time. The CP will not take the place of the fireworks, but it will change their start time. I don't remember if the Fantasmic times changed. People should also keep in the mind that on the 2 days where the CP takes place, the parade will be much earlier than usual.

I was there last year during the CP and let me tell you from experience... the crowds were no worse than any other weekend during december. As long as you stay away from Main Street during the CP you will be fine. People start camping out for it several hours beforehand, so crowds build up quick, but a lot of people are locals who are only there to see the CP.

I agree with Disneynerd about the crowds. Stay away form Maisntreet and the front entrance if you are not interested in the Candlelight Processional. Use Monorail or my favorite is to go to CAP. Walk right onto Toy Story Mania. Very light crowds. Then go to DL after processional. Even Nemo was only a 5 minute wait last year on these nights. You feel like you have the park to yourself after Candleight crowds clear out. At least in my experience.

Thanks for all the great tips. Sounds like avoiding that weekend won't be necessary so it helps open up my travel dates some. I can't wait to experience the DLR at Christmas time!
