Hi

How does the breakfst work at Cheyenne. Do you have to book your table, wait to be shown or is it self service? Can you take breakfast away? Is it table service buffet with waiter for drinks?

We are eager to get to the parks and in Florida it gets very busy in the morning. I have not stayed on property in DLRP. I am trying to get the idea on how it works.

Sorry to ask some weird questions, but I have no idea what to expect. :confused3

Thanks again, if there are any tips on times to get breakfast when it will be least quiet that would be good. The parks do not open till 10:00 the kids will be up way before that for breakfast. :sad2:

breakfast is buffet

cereals, ham, cheeses, rolls, croisants, tinend fruits, toast

tea /coffee etc

all self service including the drinks

you just go in , find a table , say put your coats on back of chair, then go and show them your breakfast card and go get your food

:cool1::cool1:

When you say parks dont open till 10am

if you are staying at the cheyenne then you will get access to the EMH which means you can get on some rides from 8am

Hi Gillsfan,

Ive not stayed at the Cheyenne before, but i did stay at the Santa fe in march you can choose breakfast slots when you book in on arrival whatever is available at the time. I went for breakfast around 8 and it was packed i know that:scared1:

it was a self sevice buffet, we just queued then found are own seat and grabbed are own food, same with drinks (cold drinks - orange - apple) you just grab a glass and help yourself. Im not sure about hot drinks as i do not drink anything hot at breakfast:) but im sure it is the same.

If you are staying on site, you get EMH - Extra magic hours from 8am to 10am where people on site can ride certain rides before the park opens to the public:wizard:

Someone will be able to give you a bit more info as to what rides (im not overly sure) also you can eat at certain restaurants around the park for breakfast....again im sure someone will know alot more:thumbsup2

i have only stayed at the santa fe but it would be the same in both hotels. get there as early as you can. when you check in even if they only have later time slots available it doesnt matter you can still show up early. i always have breakfast between 7 - 7.30. once we slept it out and it was about 8 when we got there but left as we couldnt be bothered waiting.

At Cheyenne in March we chose a breakfast slot of 7.30, to be honest we were usually there by about 7.15 and by this time the restaurant was about half full, so no problem finding a table.
Usually and my kids are older, one stays at the table with bags and coats, I go off to get all the drinks, fruit juices, coffee, chocolate etc., OH gets the rolls and croissants and my eldest gets cereals and yoghurts.
I prefer to have an early breakfast and then be at the parks for EMH at 8.00, although it's a nice walk we caught the shutttle bus some mornings and at this time it was easy to get on, between 8.00 and 10.00, they get busier and you might find you have to wait for a 2nd bus. Word of advice don't expect people to be courteous, it really is every man from himself when they're busy
:(.
Re: Taking breakfast away, I have taken croissants back to the hotel room when we stayed at SF in October and I couldn't get my lot out of bed.

If you are allocated a later breakfast slot and want to go earlier you shouldn't have a problem going in. If you have an early slot you'll notice how much busier it's getting when you're finishing, I'd avoid 8.00 - 9.00 am.

when you do take some food out with you.....do you have to hide it from the staff?:lmao: or do they openly probably see people doing it all the time?

i will prob try take some extra with us for snacks, just knowing my luck they will see me, and make me put it back:rotfl2::rolleyes1

It doesn't matter what timeslot you are given for breakfast at the Cheyenne, you can go anytime, and the earlier you go, the better breakfast experience you will have. We were at breakfast by 7.20 each morning of our stay there, and it was lovely and quiet.

If you have young children, and you have access to EMH (which you should do at least some of your stay there) it really is worth being at the park gates by 8am, to make the most of the rides in Fantasyland with little or no queueing.

All the onsite hotels have busy breakfast times, where you will have to wait to get a table/get food etc. Generally speaking, after 8am and until around 9.30am is the busiest breakfast times at the hotels.

We are discrete when making up filled rolls to take away with us for lunch - but, if you look around, you can see most people are doing it. We then wrap the rolls up in tissues and take them out in rucksack or handbag.

I would advise getting to breakfast before 8am, otherwise all/any joy is taken out of the experience. Continentals can be quite pushy at the best of times, and are no better at breakfast. Elbows at the ready!

when i last went, we tried to make some rolls for the day but didnt find the napkins big enough for the baguettes and they didnt saty in place so we had a few rolls rolling around bottom of our bag by lunch time lol

I might take some little food bags with me then:laughing: they will keep DS and DP happy throughout the day:) i will keep on the lookout while DP sneaks them in the bag.

Re taking food for later on, I believe the OP was referring to breakfast only. I don't agree "that most people are doing it" and I certainly wouldn't condone it.
It's breakfast that's included with the package, not breakfast, lunch & tea and worth remembering that we all end up paying extra to make up for abuse of the system.
Just my opinion. :)

Thanks for the info. I will check out the extra magic hours. I take it the annual pass wont stop us from using the MH aslong as I bring my i.d card from the hotel.

Thats right Gillsfan, it doesn't matter what kind of park entry ticket you have for EMH, its the hotel ID (easypass card) you show to get to the turnstiles for EMH. You get your easypass when you check in at your hotel.

Lilacgem each onsite hotel does similar character meet n greets, especially in the mornings. The Cheyenne one is outside the main reception area, next to the stagecoach. You'll find the timetable of which character will be there, and when, on the notice board between the entrance to the restaurant and the public toilets, in the main reception area.

Hi Gillsfan. There's a very good summary of what the Extra Magic Hours are all about over on DLRP Magic here.

Yes you are right, she was referring to only breakfast.

Due to the fair few TR i have read over the past year or so people have stated they have taken a few nibbles to keep little ones happy throughout the day/morning. so maybe not most but a fair few.
Which in my opinion i do not see anything wrong with that.

In all of the times i have been DLP i have never needed to take any extra, this will be my first trip with a two year old. I dont see any harm in taking a couple of rolls etc to keep little one happy while queuing etc........not a large amount to make up for lunch and dinner has you stated.
I dont want to go to DLP to nibble on breakfast goodies all day, where is the magic in that;)
