How does August compare?!!

We have been to WDW twice in July but have never been in August. We are considering going for the last 2 weeks of August and the first week of September.............how does this compare to July in terms of crowds, wait times and weather?!!

I have been in the end of August the past 4 years and have found that lines are not as long as June and July. The weather is still great and the only thing I would say I found is that if you want shorter lines at the park, it is better to go early in AM or during the afternoon when the sun is at its hottest. I found that magic hours lines (if staying on Disney property) are much longer than lines during the day because everyone is trying to go at night to avoid the heat.

The first week of September is usually a ghost town it seems to me. I went that week 2 years ago and there was no one there. First week of school for most kids. So if staying for three weeks, you should avoid most 1 hour plus lines at that time. That may just be my experience there, but that is what I would recommend. Hope that helps some.

Have went in past in both July and late Aug. Late Aug while still busy is much less packed then in July. Later Aug./early Sept. is a quieter time at WDW.

Since we can no longer take kids out of school, we go the end of August. While it's not as nice as mid-January, the crowds really weren't too bad, and you had the added bonus of late park hours. The only park we really had an issue with was AK. There is very little shade or air conditioning there, and it wiped us out. So, next time we plan to do two mornings at AK, rather than try to do it all in one day.

I heard from a friend that the third week in August is fairly crowded--we were there the last week. Next year, we plan to go for 12 days, so will hit both weeks.

Tha's one of the BEST times to go in my opinion! We LOVE Augustat Disney!
