How does All Seasons Travel work?

I've called a few travel agents and Disney and have been told that there are no more quads available on the cruise I want. However, yesterday All Seasons Travel said they found one, at a great price. When I called today to see if I could upgrade my cabin, I was told it that my paperwork waws in booking and would be booked this afternoon. Does this mean there's a chance I won't get a spot on the cruise? Or do they have some other deal going on?

If someone can explain how this work and assure me that I will have a spot on the cruise I want, I'd appreciate it. I've already scheduled everything else around it and my plane tickets are non-refundable.

Thanks,

Jennifer

All seasons has people that are responsible for certain areas, i.e., booking, flight, hotels, etc.. If you talked to them and gave them your information and placed a deposit than you should have the available spot on the cruise. I have used All Seas and really like them. I have also recommended them to friends who have also really liked them. I would try and call back this afternoon and confirm. Get them also to email all of your information so that you have a hard copy record of your arrangements. If they took a deposit from you, then you should be able to upgrade now. I know that we did upgrade the day after we booked and had no problems. :flower:

I've used All Seasons SEVERAL times and all "booking" means is that your paper work is currently off the agent's desk and in their back office area to be put into their system and for you to be invoiced. They confirm everything with DCL as soon as you call them, it just takes a few days for you to be in All Seasons system. Trust me, you're spot is confirmed. I actually went through this with them on my West Coast cruise. They told me that I was confirmed, and yet it took about a week for me to be in their system. If they told you that you have a spot on the cruise, you do. Don't worry, All Seasons is a top notch travel agency.

I just cancelled a res with All Seas and was told refund will take 6 to 8 weeks. Seems like a very long time to me. Best advice is to stick with Dreams Unlimited.

That's their standard line, because it's DCL's standard line. I've cancelled reservations before with them and I've received my refund in the same amount of time that I have with reservations I'v boked with Dreams. If you cancel a reservation directly with DCL they will also tell you to wait one to two billing cycles for your credit to appear. All Seasons will cancel your reservation immediately with DCL, after that, it's up to DCL to process the credit not All Seasons.

Not if best price is your first priority, IMO. I would wager that I've spent more time than most in looking for a DCL bargain, and for most itineraries, AST offers the best deal by a substantial margin. IMO, saving a couple hundred bucks on a cruise supersedes the inconvenience of a marginal delay in receiving a refund if I cancel.

I love all seasons I just transferred my reservation from DCL and received another $200 shipboard credit = $400. I havent had a probelm with them at all. I did cancel my 1st cruise reservation with another TA to go with all seasons for the fla rate and I saw my deposit back in my account in about 8 business days from DCL.. they by far had the cheepest rate for me as a fla resident.. good luck deciding

I guess everyone has their own opinions but I cancelled with All Seasons because DU was several hundred dollars cheaper. It certainly pays to keep checking prices.

allseastravel.com (same place, right?) is the TA that I'm trying to use (see my "Bummed" post). I'm not sure why they need the deposit right now, instead of allowing the 4 day hold period, like other TAs. But then again, they're the only ones that say a room is available on the cruise I want. It's weird.

Good luck!

Have used All Seasons & they are great... I have always had to give a deposit as soon as we booked the cruise....

Wow; I'm genuinely surprised. But you're right. I guess it depends on when you call to get your quote . . . because DU was significantly higher for the same accommodations when we booked last month for 5/8 on the Wonder.

We just got back from the 2/5 cruise and a friend of mine was planning to go with us but had to cancel b/c her dad was sick. She got her deposit back from All Seas Travel in about a week.
I'm not sure if they do it all the time, but we rec'd a gift from All Seas:
Bon Voyage Memory Box
This colorful photo box captures the excitement of your journey. Included is a fun "Captain Mickey" rubber frame that makes you the navigator, as well as 4 mailable photo cards with envelopes.
Complete Set (Item #1164) - Price: $30.00

Another friend who also cruised and booked through All Seas rec'd the same gift. We thought they were very easy to work with and had a better price than DU at the time we booked (1 1/2 years before we cruised)

Sometimes AllSeasonsTravel will be cheaper and sometimes DU will be cheaper. Shop around.

The original question about room availability... The travel agencies have blocks of rooms and seatings reserved. That is why my brother was told by AAA that there was only Cat.4 and second seating available and I got a choice of categories and seating with AllSeasons. (This time, for me, Allseas was cheaper than DU by $200)
