I'll be renting a car for the first time next month. I noticed on Alamo's website they have a self-service kiosk in Orlando. We already have our reservation. How do these kiosks work? Does it save time? Where do you get the keys for the car?

Since we'll be travelling with our twin infants, I'd like to make the car rental process as quick as possible.

Thanks.

Very simple if you have a prior reservation and saves a lot of time. You just walk up to like an airline check in machine, be sure and have your reservation number with you. It will ask you a series of questions, basicly the same ones as an attendant would about insurance, pre-paid gas, child seats needed etc. It will then give you a receipt to take out to the parking garage where you pick out the size car in the class you are reserving and load it with your luggage and things. The keys are in the cars in the parking garage no matter how you check in so need to worry over being issued a key. When you go to drive out there will be a toll booth type thing where you must stop with your paperwork and credit card to get your car logged into the system. We had to give them our debit card at that point (cannot remember if it asked for it at the kiosk before that or not), and proof of round trip air ticket as we used a debit card, plus the drivers license for their records. When they get you all checked out there you just drive off with your car..very simple..hope that helps...:thumbsup2

Helps very much!!

Thank you so much.

With Alamo you're not assigned a specific car just a specific size. When you get out to the car garage you just go to the line that's marked with the size you've reserved: full size, mini van, mid size etc. You can walk down the row and pick the one you want. Keys are in each car. Just drive out to the exit and hand in the paperwork as was said above.

The self-serve kiosk is great & easy, but be careful because the default option on each screen seems to be to accept the extra insurance or re-fuel option or whatever. Just read each screen and carefully select your response.

Just a quick question:

If someone used Priceline, can they use the kiosk? I didn't use Priceline, but just replied to a post that did. I am guessing you can....
