We are splitting our stay between OKW and VWL in a couple weeks. How does this all work with luggage and check in...etc?

Disney will transfer you luggage for free from one Disney resort to another Disney resort. You will have so time between checking out of one resort and checking at another where you will be homeless. It was not bad since we were at the parks. We just told the bellman the night before, left the luggage in our room then they delivered it to the next resort. You will need to check in at the new resort. I believe that your luggage will not show up at the new resort until at least 3:00. The only problem we had was that we had to call down several times to request it to be brought up to our new room and it took about one hour from calling before we saw it.

I love switching resorts and have done it several times. Our last vacation was a 16 day (that's right, 16 days) vacation and we stayed at 3 different places. We payed cash for 2 weekend nights at ALL Star Sports, then went to BCV for most of our stay and moved to AKL for the last 3 nights. I have never had a problem with the luggage. What we usually do is go to the next resort we are going to check into early in the a.m. so we have a better chance of getting a room we want. We then have breakfast at that resort and plan to go to one of the parks for the day. We call from the park to see if our room is ready. We head back to the hotel, get our keys and ask that our luggage be brought up. It doesn't take long. I have never had to wait more than a 1/2 hour for the luggage to come up.

Not necessarily. We always stay in a non-SSR studio on our travel/arrival day then move to SSR the next morning. We have NEVER had a problem getting our room - even when we check in at 9:00 AM.

Don't know how long it would take the luggage to catch up - we drive, so we toss it in the trunk....
