How does a split stay within the same resort work?

Happy New Year's Eve eve!
We leave a week from Saturday :cool1: for our first trip staying on our very own points. First night in a standard studio, next 3 nights in a boardwalk view 1 bedroom. The standard studio is a waitlist room that came through a month or two ago. So there are 2 reservations but they are linked. Will we have to check out and check back in? Do we schlep our own luggage or will Disney handle this for us? What about the stuff in the fridge? I am going to try to keep that fridge stuff to a minimum but our one year old will inevitably have his milk in there and my DH will inevitably have his (beer)bottle(s) in there as well. This is a bonus trip for us. W are using the exact amount of banked points that came with our contract (resale..thanks Tom!). Hopefully this will establish a tradition of at least one parent-only trip to the Mouse yearly. Yes yes, I know the baby is with us this year but I just couldn't leave him behind yet. The 2 year old and 5 year old are staying with grandparents. Any insight as to how splitting the stay between 2 different accomodations within the same resort (BWV) will be greatly apppreciated.

I would check in the morning if they have your new room available. If not, call bell services and ask them to pickup your stuff and put it into storage. Mark which items need to be refrigerated. Then when you get to your new room, call them to bring it up. I would tip both ways. I did this one time when we switched from a Boardwalk Inn room to a Boardwalk Villa room (we didn't have food though).

I think that you'll have to go to the front desk to check out and check back in. When I stayed at BWV in August, I had the first night in preferred view, then 3 nights in BW view (that first night wait-list hadn't come through). Although I asked at checkin, no BW view rooms were available, so the next morning, I had to come down and recheck in. Surprisingly, although it was only 9:45, my new room was ready and was just around the corner from where I'd been. If I'd known where I was going to be and that my room was ready, I could have gone down without my luggage, then gone back up and moved it. You might want to try that around 10:00.

Congratulations & Welcome Home!

HAPPY "MAGICAL" VACATIONING,
Tom :sunny:

Remember to stop by the store and pick up your welcome basket. You will really enjoy it at the Resort.

Thank You!

You mentioned to stop by the store to pick up your Welcome Basket, what is that?

I'm a DVC rookie (December 2005) and will be taking our first trip :cool1: as DVC members in February.

I believe the welcome baskets are from The Timeshare Store, if you purchased a resale through them.

But please correct me if I am wrong.
