How does A Point Transfer Work?

I was wondering if someone could explain to be how a point transfer works. We are booking a large family trip and my BIL doesn't have enough points. So we are wanting to transfer points from another member (from the rent/trade board) into his account. He has never done this before and wanted me to ask you guys about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

It's easy. The other member calls MS and tells them how many points to transfer to your BIL. They are put into his account instantly.

Also remember what the transfer guidelines say:

Current policies limit Vacation Point transfer transactions to one transfer per Member or Membership, either as transferee or transferor, during a given Use Year.

Do you know what information needs to be given out for a transfer? My BIL is hesitant about giving his member number out. Thank you
