how do you work your wknd stays?

right now I have WL for Sat Aug 13, Villas for Sun 14 thru Sat 20, WL for Sat 20th and BCV for 21-27
Im thinking it would be best (even w/3more pts!) to book Villas Sat 13th thru Fri 21st, then WL for 21 & 22, then BCV
Id have a full wknd at the lodge instead of 2 Sats but we'd only need to move twice instead of three times
Im looking to use pts for only 1 wknd night and we'll be there for 3

would you change?

I couldn't understand the whole post, either, but 3 pts? Shoot the moon, even if you have to borrow the extra points! I have even been known to-gasp!-rent points from other members if I don't have any points left to borrow!

I'd switch all those WL nights to VWL, and get those weekend nights for the DVC discount, if available. Otherwise, pay rack rate for a night or two. It's all better than mooving all those times. Stay put for a while and enjoy your vacation.

On our upcoming trip in Sept we are moving from SSR to Poly Concierge. The thought of having to move once during our vacation is a little upsetting. If it wasnt for the better accomdations in concierge I would not even consider it. As a previous poster said.... let the points fall where they may and just settle in and enjoy.

My opinion

Otherwise I am cheap - I would go to Pop Century (and I have)

just pack a small fold up bag in your suitcase - and put the clothes you need for WL in it - and kept everything else with bell services or if you have a car in the trunk.

Our weekends are spent either at Cocoa Beach or we move to All Stars, Coronado or now Pop we would rather pay cash and keep the points we would have used for the weekends to extend the stay.

We will be at VWL in Dec. and we are using the DVC discount for the weekend so we won't have to move. We did it last year and it worked out well. I don't feel like moving while I'm on vacation.

I would guess from your post that it's more important to you to save some of the weekend nights on points than it is to stay put. If you don't mind the moving, I think your idea is a good one - it'll minimize the moves. But I also think you should check out the cash rate. And personally, I'm in Spiceycat's world - I'd rather move and save the points. And packing just for those couple of nights is way easier.

Can you do this? I mean if I stayed Sun to Thurs and then paid rack for 2 nights would I get the same room?

I did ask about the DVC discount on the studio - was told there is no discount out yet

Im assuming they would keep us in the same room - they wouldnt guarantee it but it would mean less housekeeping

we also have APs so Im thinking that rack rate for the Lodge may come down
