How Do You Wear Your Magic Band?

My upcoming trip will be my second using MB's. I remember last trip having a hard time choosing a hand for my MB and deciding which direction the mouse head should face. I'm right-handed, and wear my watch on my left, maybe not wearing the band on my wrist at all would be the easiest :confused3

What does everyone else do you? What do you find easiest? Least awkward for opening room door, charging etc?

I've been twice with bands (ended up at testing hotels twice!) and I wore mine on my left arm like a watch. Occasionally at registers this would be annoying because of the placement on the counter. But I would just spin it so Mickey was inside at my wrist and tap it.

I would say if you aren't going to wear it on your wrist be careful. My sister the first day didn't want to wear it on her wrist so she put it on her purse strap. It got caught on something and ripped off within an hour and if a very nice person hadn't turned it in she woulda been bandless as this was before you could buy a replacement in the store.

Honestly thought it would bug me but after a day I was used to it. Heck I wore it they the scatter scanner at the airport when leaving and they had to make me take it off. Lol.

I don't mind wearing it on my wrist, I just find it so awkward having to bend my arm at odd angles specifically for opening the door and charging. This is why I tend to favor wearing the band on my right hand with the mouse facing outward.

Right arm only over here. I don't have a choice though. I wear a watch and a fitbit flex on my left arm daily. Not wearing those is not an option. It would feel like I forgot my arm without them. I don't notice them when they are on, but I definitely notice when they aren't. A third band is overkill, so my magic band must go on my right arm.

I wore it in place of my watch (I had my phone out all day for the MDX app, so I didn't really need the watch), on my left arm with the Mickey facing outward. No problems at the turnstiles or FP rides, I didn't do any charging and was just in the habit of using my MM card for ride photos (on the first trip the MB wasn't linked to my MDX account because it was from a school trip), but didn't have any trouble getting into the hotel room. I just held my arm straight up and tapped the band to the receiver on the door.

I secure it to my purse strap. It's vain but I don't like the way they look when worn.

Left hand but had some issues as the door lock was on the left hand side too and it was hard to get the wrist onto the plate with the door frame in the way.

I am thinking about doing this. I never wear anything on my wrists at all because I find it uncomfortable-- no bracelets, no watches. I have a crossbody bag that rests near my right hip and planned on hooking the MagicBand right there on the front, where the strap meets the bag.

My only concern is what happened to a previous poster in this thread, with the band getting ripped off and me not noticing it.

When I got my first MB I had to "trim" it to its child size as it was way too big on me otherwise (at that time I was toying with the idea of actually wearing it) and I find that by having it smaller and snapping it to its smallest circumfrence works great. Since their introduction I've spent 21 days touring with it and haven't had it come off yet.

I guess maybe I am vain, too. I like to wear bracelets and a wrist watch so I was trying to decide if I should ditch my watch? Thought maybe I could snap it on my camera bag, then remembered that usually about half-way though our trip, DH will leave camera in room and use cell for photos... knowing me and my blond self I would forget and leave it strapped to the bag and show up at the park bandless. Even considered strapping it to my trading pin lanyard.

I wear mine on my left arm, loosely, with Mickey's ears facing me. I've worn one for 26 days total (at the parks, and I have to admit a few more at home!) and found it comfy and easy to use.

I don't wear bracelets or watches but don't mind the magic band at all. But it's all a matter of taste. My sister gave up on the purse after the rip off incident. She also felt awkward leaning her body to the scanner to scan the band attached to the strap. I will say she hadn't made it smaller by ripping off the excess. So that may be why it was so easily lost from her strap.

Again though matter of preference. Also I have seen some people chop off the arms poke a hole through the top and fasten just the Mickey head on one of this snap back reels you use for cards sometimes.

DN14 asked if she could wear hers on the way to WDW. Told her yes, and I might do it, too! After reading the positive posts on the comfort of it, I will probably wear it as opposed to strapping it on to something (which I had been considering). Probably will check it throughout the day to see what time it is, since it will be replacing my wrist watch, lol.

It's Mickey o'clock! Hope you have a great trip.

I wear it looser than a watch with the Mickey on the outside of my wrist.

That's exactly how I am. I don't mind things on my wrists and quite honestly feel "naked" if I forget my watch. I'll usually wear 1-2 bracelets with it as well but the MB just looked bad. Totally not my taste nor style.

When we first received our MagicBands, I wasn't sure how comfortable it was going to be to wear all day. Once in the parks, I wore mine on my left hand, ears inward, where I would normally wear my watch. I didn't have trouble at all! I found it to be very convenient. My two year old actually wore hers the whole time.
