I think there are a few reasons that threads start out "Convince Me to...."
1) They are created by complete imbeciles who actually seek out the advice of total strangers (Such as..."Convince me that it's okay to leave my kid alone in the tent at night while I go to the comfort station to pee.")
2) They are created by trolls
3) They are created by people who are tired of reasons 1 & 2
4) They are created by Fiends that want to know the answer to the ultimate question of WWLD?
What do you think?

It's an expression. Not every inquiry in this regard is a troll. I do think there have been those who post with a genuine inquiry regarding FW, and want to know what it may have to offer in regards to their particular situation. I don't really think the words "convince me" are worth getting your panties in a bunch over.
Only sometimes, and (I've got my flame suit on)..it's merely an expression, and us Fiends seem to have our backs up in defensive mode. If someone is stupid enough to think the Fort is beneath them and they need to be convinced to stay there, that's their loss. If the "convince me" is posted in the regular camping forum and not the community camping forum, then it's posted correctly, and either someone can answer the inquiry...or not.
I'm quite sure I've done that myself. I'm sure I've told a poster or two inquiring about the cabins they'd find the camping forum more informative. Some weren't even aware that there was a forum specific to FW here on the Dis. It's been my experience over the years that I've been a member of the camping forum that folks here are genuinely a friendly, helpful bunch.
