How do you usually handle check out day? Go to theme park or no?

We usually fly home around 7pm, leaving around 4pm as well. We intentionally schedule the later flight so we can treat our check-out day just like any other day of our vacation. We wake up early to do rope drop, and on our way out to the bus stop we just drop our bags at the RAC counter. We spend the morning/afternoon in the park, and usually do a TS lunch. Instead of coming back for our mid-day break, we just come back to get on DME and head to the airport.

If you didn't want to visit a park that day, I would probably sleep in and do a late morning breakfast at Boma. You can also use the pool and use the public facilities near the pool to dry off and change before heading to the airport. Another option would be to spend time at Disney Springs, but be sure to save room in a carry-on or luggage for anything you may buy!

We drive down so check out day has no schedule except if we board my son's dogs then we have to be home in time to pick them up before a certain time. We play it by ear. If there is more shopping to be done, we will run to a park for that or if we just have to have one more ride on ToT, we will do that.

We like evening flights back to the west coast.
This time we will spend the morning in Epcot, have lunch at Teppan Edo and then do some final shopping, etc at Disney Springs. We like being in bed at night saying "can you believe it, we woke up in WDW and were riding Spaceship Earth, now we're home in bed!"

Did last trip since bought annual pass and had later flight. Went to Epcot until early afternoon, but then stayed a bit long and stressed waiting on bus back to resort... Barely made it back on scheduled time, but then of course MDE was 45 minutes late so just ended up sitting around in lobby.

Next trip no MDE, so will probably Uber and have a bit more flexibility.

We drive so we can leave whenever. Usually we hang out at the pool, eat some lunch and then head out around 1-2. If it's a short weekend trip, we may hit a park for a few hours in the morning (we have APs).
