How do you use KTPs character locator?

I got a subscription because I used to be a type A theme park commando, which I have relaxed a little from! But, his maps are the easiest for me to understand and follow in the parks. They are printable and show the restaurant/buildings/character locations with the names on the buildings. I like them a lot.

My son is a character person, so we subscribed for our last trip. The pros--he really does provide the most easily accessed list of characters, with times they're meeting each day, tips for how to interact with them (ie, fun questions and posing suggestions), info about expected waits for various characters, and some secret meet and greets that apparently even CMs won't tell you about in advance. The biggest con for us was that he only provides one week at a time, loaded on Saturday. So although you can play around on the site ahead of time to get an idea of what's there and what you might be interested in doing, the site isn't really useful for advance planning. It's more something you'd use while you're in the park, or maybe the night before while planning your day. That was my main criticism--I didn't realize before subscribing that I wouldn't have access to that info as soon as he knew it. It's a good site and subscription for what it is, but it's very focused on characters.

Same - I don't know how he gets his info but he is spot on with exactly when and where characters are meeting each day. I like his simple maps, too. Also, I had no clue what "tap grab modify" or "refreshing" was when I started planning for WDW and I think a lot of people don't, so I found value in that. I have a coworker who has gone to WDW every year for almost 30 years. He didn't know until last year (when I told him) that you can get more FP after your initial 3, that you can book them before the day of, and that you can change the times I think people on these forums take what they know for granted and assume everyone knows all the tips.

I will say Kenny can come across as a little arrogant in his responses on Facebook and most answers are "check character locator" or "well that wouldn't happen if you used our travel agency." Not a fan of that.

I subscribe to both CL and TP and have for 2 years. Both have value to me for different reasons.
