How do you use Extra Magic Hours

i'll explain now why we don't do morning or evening EMH...

the one time we did morning EMH at MK - the emh part was fine, but they only open fantasyland and tomorrowland, not the rest of the park..

so when they opened up the rest of the park at 9 am, splash mountain was even more crowded than on a regular non-EMH day....not fun at all...
so we decided never to bother with morning EMH again....better to avoid the parks with EMH entirely...

as for evening EMH - we did one once and the crowds were so intense i thought i was going to be crushed....
so we gave up on those as well..

so now when i set out schedule i make sure that the park we on it does not have any EMH that day in hopes that the crowd level will be lower in that park...

as for animal kingdom - they only have morning emh now, not evening...
AK is overcrowded as it is, no reason to make it worse by going to it on an EMH day...

Sometimes its hard to avoid EMH parks. During our trip in April MK has EMH every day that we are there (over Easter)

You might want to keep an eye on the opening times for when you visit as it's quite possible that additional EMH will be added around July 4th.

when we were there in august, MK had EMH on 4 days - 2 morning (tues/thurs) and 2 evening (sunday/friday)..
so we only went to MK on the other 3 days...

Sorry, I should have been clearer - its every morning plus some evenings, so no way we could go on a non-EMH morning as there aren't any!!
Just as well we are on-site and like the EMH mornings

We did early ones when we went 2 years ago but it killed me as i am a late night person anyways but it is worth while you get to do rides before the park fully opens

Thanks for all the advice and strategies. I think we will try a mix of avoiding EMH unless we fancy a late morning/lunch at OKW pool.
