Do you need to do anything special like a hand stamp?
(we have the upgraded tickets, Jan special)

Sorry for the stupid question.

With the finger scan I understand that the hand stamp is no longer needed. Just put you ticket through the card reader and place your fingers in the scanner.

If you see a CM at the exit putting hand stamps on people by all means get one, if no one has a stamp pad and rubber stamp don't worry about it. Just be sure you don't accidentally swap tickets between people in your party as the WDW computer ties your finger scan to your ticket and if you should somehow switch tickets the computer will not recognize you as the legal ticket holder.

I believe that now that they do the finger thing that a handstamp is no longer required. They still might do it though, just ask when leaving your first park and I am sure the CM will let you know. Other than that you just go from park to park. We use it most with hitting the park early, leaving around 1PM back to the hotel for a rest then back to a different park in the evening most of the time. I think Hoppers are a must.

It used to be, as you left any Park, you would need to get your hand stamped for proof to "hop".

Now, with the "biometric readers" (finger scanners)
at the next park(s), just put your ticket in the reader and scan your fingers.
The computer will "know" that you were in another park and that you are Hopping into this one.

BE SURE TO MARK EACH PERSON's NAME ON EACH TICKET (so you won't get them mixed up).

Sometimes it will work.

If your tickets were all bought together, and are all used together the first time, then the biometrics are tied together in teh computer and it will let you through if you accidentally put the wrong ticket in when you go through.

Enjoy your hopping PaulaSue! Park hopping can make a trip so much more anjoyable, as you are notlocked into the same park all day and can experiment.
