how do you tour the world showcase at Epcot?

This thread has been a great source of information has we plan our trip in June. My wife and I have never been to Epcot, so we are not sure how to plan our time to 'do' this park. The only question I still have is about how long it takes just to walk through a pavilion, without shopping, eating, or participating an attraction. If we want want to just casually walk round the World Showcase, how much time should we allow per pavilion? I realize that any answer is an estimate, but I would really appreciate any information. I guess I am just asking experience Epcot visitors how much is there to just see at each pavilion. Thanks in advance. :-)

This will probably blow you away but if you've never been there, I would say 30-60 minutes per pavilion. Now, there are 11 pavilions just in World Showcase so do the math. I advise, for a first timer, to split two days but not one day in Future World and one day in World Showcase. Do one day with the left side of both and then the next with the right side of both. On the first day, hit the Future World attractions and then do half of World Showcase. For the second day, reverse if necessary. You will get the best of both each time.

EPCOT!!!! My Happy Place! I am an Epcot nut:rolleyes1! We do two days there. First day is at FW, and we do every single thing they offer and sometimes do it twice. Once we have done everything, we usually loop from backside into Canada and visit the pavilions til around 7:00 p.m. We then go back to our resort and eat there and swim, watch poolside movie, etc. Day two we sleep till about 7 and try to be on the bus no later than 9:30. We usually ride Spaceship Earth, then head to WS to wait for Mexico's rope drop. We always eat lunch at Mexico or Norway. We do absolutely as much as we can pack into that day. And Meet and Greets are a must for me! Especially Mary Poppins! Of course we eat our way through there with all the different foods. Usually pick a spot around 8 and just sit and relax till Illuminations. Then, I cry. All the way out the park and to the bus...:goodvibes

Thank you for the advice. We are trying to plan 5 full days, split between 4 parks, most of which we have never seen (MK way back in'72). We are limiting ourselves to must see attractions, shows, parades, and the pavilions of course, which are not 'attractions'. Hard to gage time to see it all. And, of course, we want time to enjoy the pool at our resort, BC. Stormalong Bay looks very cool (pun intended).

How do we tour Epcot? With drink in hand:rotfl2:

Seriously, we hit Epcot nearly every day we're in WDW. We hit another park at ropedrop, tour until lines get to be longer than we'll take then we hop to Epcot. Before FP+ we'd have to hit Epcot at least once at ropedrop to get in Soarin' and TT, now we just schedule them for the afternoon and it works out fine. we usually have 8 park days but Oct '14 we'll do 9.

No fair, bill stole my answer! Both parts, actually.

This!!!

Drinking around the world is on my agenda every time I go to Epcot. Honestly It's a game. No, don't jump to conclusions about drunken kids. it is VERY easy to pace yourself..

of course... During last years food and wine festival.. I thought it was a great idea to complete my passport in 2 days... with every item... it wasn't pretty....

Beer by Beer .... I mean country by country :rotfl2::drinking1popcorn:: sometimes I add in a little popcorn to wash down the beer. or is it the other way around???

I do solo trips. I spend almost every afternoon/evening in WS. Mostly watch the entertainment, Off Kilter, Voices of Liberty, Mariachi Cobre, Mo Rockin, ...
When friends ask me how far apart they are, my response is that they are about a beer apart.

We spend a lot of time at EPCOT, but mostly to eat. We spend 2-3 half days there, usually. We do Agent P adventures and I drink my way around the world. :thumbsup2 We also do a lot of shopping in Japan, it's my favorite WS country.

We tend to visit World Showcase multiple days on our visits if we can. If not, we usually go Mexico & Norway (just to hit the attractions) then back to Canada and around, doing a detailed shopping/eating/drinking/attraction funfest. There's really no way to get extremely in depth with only one World Showcase day though, I feel.
