With the Nascar Busch and truck series banquets being held at the Grand Floridian on Dec 8 & 10 how do you think this is going to affect the crowd levels in the parks for the first 2 wks of Dec? Could this be the reason why they extended the MK hours for Sat. Dec 9 for closing at 10 to closing at 11?
I'm worried. We have this going on and pop warner for my week at the world.

Which one is on which night? Just curious as we will be there on the 10th.

First Pop Warner, then I hear about the International Builder's conference, now the NASCAR Truck and Busch series banquets are all happening the week we will be there? I'm strating to think our selection of the "value" season may be busier than we anticipated :confused3 When we went in 2003, I said that I would never go to DW any other time because of the low crowd levels, the Holiday decor, and comfortable temps. Now I'm thinking that it may not be the "best" time of year to visit. I'll just have to keep thinking positive thoughts I guess.

I hope crowds aren't high but I will say you can't get a room to save your life. We're heading down the 3rd-6th. Wanted to add 1 more night and stay until the 7th. Ain't happening. I just found out about the Busch series banquet too.

Will any of the Nascar drivers be at the banquets? We'll be down there Dec.2nd to Dec.10th and my son-in-law would think he died and went to Heaven if he could catch a glimpse of Jeff Gordon! :teeth:

Darn ... all I saw were wonderful Jersey people :teeth: and no NASCAR drivers ... (I was at WDW during Jersey Week). Had a wonderful time but would love to see Jeff Gordon too!

I don't see how this could affect the parks much ... maybe just the Grand Floridian. I didn't know the banquet was in WDW and not NYC!

The Nascar Cup series banquet is in NYC on Dec. 1. This is the Nascar Busch and Truck series banquet's that's at the Grand Floridian Dec. 8 and 10. I do not know if Jeff Gordan will be at the banquets in orlando or not, but drivers like Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahn(go,go,go), Tony Stewart, Jeff Burton, Greg Bifle, Micheal Waltrip are a few of the cup drivers that also drove in the Busch series this year. Kevin Harvick is the Busch Series Champ this year.

Any idea how I could find out if Jeff Gordon is going to be there?

I really don't think Jeff Gordon will be there. Those banquets are for the top 10 finishers in the Busch series and the Craftsmen Truck series. Jeff Gordon hasn't driven in either one of them this year. The more notable drivers that will be there are mostly from the Busch series since alot of Nextel drivers also drive in the Busch series. The top ten finishers this year were Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer, Denny Hamlin, J.J. Yeley, Paul Menard, Kyle Busch (no relation), Johnny Sauter, Greg Biffle, Reed Sorenson.

The Nextel series with the likes of Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Tony Stewart, etc. will be December 1 in New York City.

I could be wrong but I don't think the banquets are open to the public. The Nextel drivers get lots of exposure in New York but these two banquets will probably be low keyed.

Bill from PA - you might be in for a shortage of Budweiser for the Nextel banquet. That's Dale Jr's sponsor.

What is the deal with the mullet comment?

I seriously doubt Jeff Gordon will be there. He would have no reason too. They have their banquet in NYC.

Would be cool to see Kevin Harvick!

Don't forget that Major League Baseball is also having their Winter Meetings at WDW that week!
