How do you think pricing will compare between April 2021 and April 2022?

We were booked on an April 2020 sailing with our extended family (Magic, 4 night with Key West) which was cancelled. At the time, we chose the refund option, as we were a little concerned about having all of that money tied up for a full year with the volatility of the cruise industry. However, my parents are now talking about the possibility of getting an April 2021 cruise on the books in case cruises are sailing without a lot of restrictions by that point (iffy, I know). However when I checked pricing, it was significantly higher than the same cruise in 2020 that was cancelled. (We also had a placeholder discount on our other cruise, which makes the difference even more, of course.) I know this may be due to all of the people who rebooked with their credit. Do you think there is any chance the prices will go down at all between now and then? If you had to guess based on pricing for the fall 2021 itineraries, would you anticipate that April of 2022 would be less than what April 2021 is showing as right now?

Fall 2021 prices were no lower than fall 2020 prices. I would expect spring 2022 prices to be about the same as 2021 prices, unless the cruising situation gets even worse and DCL has a hard time reaching their desired capacity. We won't really know until the time comes.

Anything can happen, but even if it goes down, it won't go down a lot. They are going to have to make up for lost revenue and if people will pay it in 2021, they might just assume they'll pay it in 2022, too. These fall prices may actually be a test to see what people are willing to do.

Holy Cats! I'm still trying to live through 2020. That'll feel like a victory!
