Hey there,
all you experienced sizzix users, What is your method of storing the sizzix dies? Do you like the tower that sizzix offers, or do you use plastic bins...I want to figure this out before I begin acquiring more scrapbook supplies...

thanks for your help! :wave2:

I've looked at the sizzix towers but I don't think they hold enough dies - I'd need several for the collection I have. Instead I keep my blue dies (alphabets, numbers, punctuation) in a plastic bin. The shape dies (red, yellow, green) I have stored in the two large drawers of an iris 4-drawer - large dies in one drawer, small and medium dies in the other. The top 2 small drawers just have other various scrapping supplies in them. At the moment this works for me. But if I get many more dies I fear I'll have to come up with something else.

I just stack them on a table. the tower you can not keep them in the plastic holder they come in. It might be nice for the abc that come in a box

I keep them in Rubbermaid, but I just got mine and only have about 20 dies and one alphabet, so I don't have a ton to store yet...:hyper:

Right now I don't have too many dies, so I keep them in a drawer in an Iris cart. Someone on 2Peas posted that the mini wire cubes that they sell at Target hold quite a few dies, and look cute, too! ;)

I store mine in a 3 drawer cart on wheels. It works for me, although sometimes I wish that I had a better way to store the shapes that I have. I keep forgetting which ones I have!

I don't see why this idea wouldn't work for 'large punches' too...
I saw this idea somewhere, you gather up all your small punches & punch out a shape from each one & glue them on a paper that goes into a binder, for quick reference.

I guess if one has alot of sizzix punches, you could punch out a shape from each one, & put them into binder alphabetically or by category - for quick recall...oh is that OCB??? :wave2:

Oh I just looked up the iris towers those are cool

You could just punch out a punch & tape them to the front of the drawer to indicate where/what dies you own....& where to return them after they are used...

I have exactly two...so they are in a drawer with my border punches and two whale of a punch punches. :teeth: Maybe one day I will have a iris cart just for sizzix dies .

1 alpha set per drwer - then the rest for all the others!
You can get them on sale at Staples or Office Max for 14.99 sometimes! It sits right on my scrapping table!

Yup, those are the drawer organizers I was talking about. I use the 4-drawer one for my sizzix dies. I tried keeping my alphabet sets in the small drawers, but I could never reach the dies at the back so had to practically empty the drawer to get the one I wanted. I also found that so many dies in the drawer was heavy and worried that the weight would break it or something.

As for keeping track of which dies I have, I made a scrapbook of them. I ran red, yellow and green cardstock through my xyron. Then I cut each shape using the cardstock correstponding to the die. I grouped the diecuts by theme and put them into a small (5x7) album. Now when I want to see what I've got or show someone else it's just a matter of flipping through the book. And since I have them stored by color in the drawers I know where to go to find the die(s).

sounds like a neat way to organize them!!

Thanks for all the good ideas!
