How do you store your pins?

Aww, thats sweet, yeah I can imagine anyone woud break the rules for LO's, I actually really like a lot of the starter pins, especially the sparkly princesses!!

Always a pleasure - are you on pinpics? What is your pin collecting theme?

Mine is princesses and Minnie (and Mickey if he makes a set with a specific Minnie one I have)

Yeah i am on Pinpics i think my id is tinkerbell2461. I have only added a few of my 12 pins on there :rotfl:

I basically want pins of every hotel ive stayed in and there a few random pins i want. But I'm going to collect Lilo and Stitch pins. I love Stitch and i think Lilo is adorable she reminds me of Kyra so much. :goodvibes

I store mine in the Pin Trading Case/book. I have a couple from WDW which a family friend pick up years ago for me including a 25th anniversary one & I have a couple 50th anniversary DL, the rest is from DLRP. I have yet to trade any.

I'm also think of framing them, need to find out the best way first.

do you have a pinpics account?

I'm torsie24 on there if you'd like to see my collection.

its great fun to keep it up to date!!

I had a look lastnight at your collection. It's great!! :goodvibes Fantastic website too. I've joined and added some of my pins. Still have a few left to add and find but my username is Ash87

I never had guests ask to trade pins. A couple of people though I was a CM though. Lol.

I only traded with CMs and I always initiated it, and they never mind which pin you give them. But people would totally understand that you would have keepers on there, especially at the end of the day!

Ooh thats good then!! I won't feel awkward about wearing some of my faves then
I've never traded with anyone yet but hopefuly i'll try next time... 4 weeks today :woohoo:

I can't wait to get some more pins and have a look at the new ones. I mainly collect Nightmare Before Christmas, Lilo & Stitch and Disney Villains but I also have a few more that I just really liked lol. Like Mr Potato Head as Star Wars and the slinky dog and some Mickey ones.

I was thinking about maybes pinning them onto a canvas but doing something with it to make it look a little more fancy lol. Or I like the sound of the grey felt board.

hello all

I too recently got into this when at DLP. so much so the wife would say "ok you have 30 seconds to look at this ones lanyard then if nothing grabs you right away we walk off" LOL. I am slightly addicted.

My experience of the CM's there varied. some seemed just glad to chat to you and trade what ever for what ever. Some would barter a bit with you. Some knew properly what things were rareity wise and would barter harder and some even had their own personal collection on a 2nd lanyard inside their uniform. got to do some real good trading in the few days we were there. I too wanted to do it back when I was last in florida but knew we wouldnt be back for a while.

My theme started as just tower of terror but has also moved into star wars/star tours, haunted mansion, space mountain and pirates of the caribbean.

My profile on pin pics is rhysd2

I've just bought a few off ebay and have also been picking up some that go cheap so I have some to trade rather than just ones to keep hehe. I've yet to be approached by a guest to trade but looking forward to it none the less.

As for the rules of keeps and trades, as I understand it if its on your lanyard you're technically offering it for trade(but you can of course refuse a trade) so I put my keepers I want to show off on my jacket. DLP is more relaxed about the rules etc as I'm told. In florida where tradings more common they are stuck too a little more rigidly.

I'll have to keep a eye out for the pin point next time im there. Is anyone aware of pin trader meetups in england? seem to be a fair few in the states.

I have the pin trading bag from DLP, but about 99% of my pins are still in their original packaging, in the plastic Disney bag thrown somewhere in my mess. That's how much I care about my pins :)
That's also why I don't buy too many...

Thanks for the info rhysd2! You've got soom cool pins, I love the TOT pin with Donald, Mickey and Goofy on lol.

I've been having a think about making my own nice board for them. Either with thick card then covering it in fabric or even nice wallpaper with a bit of a card frame from mountboard or something. Or using foamboard for the main base.
How do you know what nuber each pin is though? I know on pin pics each pin has a number.

Hi Ashleigh.

Unfortunatly working out what pin is what number is a little long winded. You go to the search section on pinpics then basically enter as much info on the pin as you can. IE "tower of terror goofy mickey donald". it will then bring up a list. you can then either click each one until you find it or change the view to be pictures instead of a text list. Then click on the picture thats the right one. In that info it will have the pin number and a bunch of other info.

then you can go to "my profile" click the number pin in the list and click done to add it.

Verrrrry long winded process but satisfying when you can see your collection in pictoral form.

as for storing them they are currently on a verrry full lanyard. was going to snag a cork board from somewhere and put that on the wall until I come up with something more imaginative.

Ahh i see. I managed to find most of my pins on there through either the films groups or character ones but there are a couple i havent managed to find yet but i'll try that! I know what you mean though about it being quite satisfying when its all together lol.

stick at it its worth it. some will take ages to find heh. Perhaps I'll spot you in the park one day heh. Would be nice to trade with someone other than a CM. whilst there in Jan only saw one other person with pins and she didnt have any I wanted heh
